Reformist Muslins Gathering

Sometime back we had a thread focusing on what the Muslim community was doing. I found this video on how some Muslims who recognize the threat of radical Islam, to themselves and the world, and are trying to counteract them(the radicals).

The video is good news. It seems to confirm what the radicals are intending but also gives an Islamic alternative, which is something I've never heard before.

Re: Reformist Muslins Gathering

If you haven't, you should read No God But God (Reza Aslan). I think you'll find it interesting. Provides an interesting, thorough history of Islam from pre-Islam to today. Good reading, not boring.

My next one is The Shia Revival (Vali Nasr).

Both books touch on the issues of Islam and the internal civil war that is currently ongoing. I had come to this conclusion on my but thought as an outsider that I could be wrong. Aslan pretty much said the same towards the end of his book.

Thanks for posting that RAH-VFR! It will be interesting to see what comes of these meetings.
Some interesting people on that video. We have seen the second woman who spoke (Wafa Sultan) before. This is a brave, intelligent woman. I fear for her life. - Honda Motorcycles - FireBlades.org
I pray that their cause will prosper.
