    XR1200 Spec Series - AMA

I'm actually really excited and curious about this. What do you all think?

Overlooking my basic desire to see the whole DMG-France-Nascar Empire crumble into sand, it's a good thing - might lead to some more go-fast parts for the XR12, which is my favorite of the HD line.Who knows, maybe Harley will pull the best parts out of the Buell pile and make that thing breathe fire...

Good to know that the Nascarite Politburo read interwebz forumz, and are giving the fans what they want...

I'm a bit concerned about the negative effects though, as this new series will likely be the death knell for MotoGP in the USA....

Sliding liter bikes with no electronics will surely have all the moto fans in Amerika rushing to that side of the boat, leaving the USGP's high and dry....

All sarcasm aside, I can't say this does a whole lot for me. I do think it is cool that they are trying something like this in the name of racing. But for me, H-D and racing are mutually exclusive. Now before everyone gets all in a huff and says I don't know up from down; I realize that that H-D has a large (if not a dominant) role in dirt tracking. I also know that their H-D/Buells do quite well in drag racing and their Screamin' Eagle division is for kit parts. I also know that the XR was born from dirt tracking and I also know that they are being raced in Spain with 17" wheels and I think they are during the same in England.

Even still, road racing and Harley Davidson seem a bit juxtaposed. To me ...
Today's public figures can no longer write their own speeches or books, and there is some evidence that they can't read them either.
