Rutt row. What does this mean for Nicky's ride if Marco changes his mind?
Isn't the '09 contract with Marco already "mutually" canceled (at least that is what earlier reports, and even this latest press report continue to state)? So the sole remaining issue is will Marco ride out the remainder of '08; and apparently he is riding Brno. However, it should have no effect on the '09 contract(s) whether he continues the remainder of the season or not, right?

You got me buddy, I made a typo.

Since when is telling what you did name dropping Haterzaddicts.org now? Hell if I was going to name drop I could have typed up all the people I spoke to during the weekend. Not that big of a deal, anyone with a paddock pass and some knowledge could do for the most part.

I'd agree w/ that. I don't think it means anything for Nicky. The seat is still open for 09. Why they didn't put Gibbers on the duc instead of Melandri is beyond me. Maybe some sponsor likes Marco better.

Money maybe? That is they would have to still pay Marco and another rider for the remainder of the season? Or perhaps Sete didn't want the gig unless he had a shot at '09? These are, of course, nothing more than guesses.

I believe that is just until the summer break (after Brno or Donnington?). As I read it, the dissolution of his contract was mutual and will continue that way until the summer break. After that, he's done-zo!

The delay has probably been Melandri's announcement. You'll see it soon enough.

A lot of bs is going on at HRC. Puig is trying to get them to split the Repsol garage and get Dani on B'stones. DeAngelis is rumored to be Nicky's replacement, on Michelins, unless they go to a control tire The silly season happens earlier every year.

Soup :: Getting Increasingly Difficult For Hayden To Duc Rumors :: 08-18-2008

One particular thing about him giving the finger to Honda on the way out that makes me smile is the RC211V parked in his garage in Kentucky.

Kind of gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling inside - doesn't it?

for me, at this point, nicky getting to ducati is as much about him getting away from michelin as it is him getting away from honda.

I'm not convinced that it's a good idea if true. Last year it wasn't THIS obvious that the tires were such an issue. If you paid attention you knew, but it wasn't blatant like it is now. I expect Michelin to respond next year.

A formal announcement hasn't been made either due to Ducati being cordial towards Melandri and waiting for him to announce his deal with Kawasaki, or contractual bs with his Honda deal like these links have been suggested. Ducati wanted Hayden before he resigned with Honda so it really is just formalities at this point. Most of the seats are locked down already. I'm still curious if it will be Dovioso or DeAngelis as the midget's team mate. Puig is definitely trying to split the garage and I don't know why HRC listens to that asshole so much, he has their ears.

Yes, excited and nervous. That bike seems so particular in what it needs to succeed. At least someone other than Stoner is figuring out how to ride one, even if it is another mite. I'm just hoping that Nicky can do well on it.

It's hard to think of a motorcycle racer more versatile than Nicky... but it's harder still to imagine how he'll get along with the Duc.
