Yeah...he's trying too hard on this issue. But saying that is pretty damn pathetic.

I read one of his recent press releases and thought it was a more hawkish tone than the majority probably wants to hear right now.

Looks fine to me.

Embedding doesn't work for the full screen versions.

I couldn't view the video earlier at work.

But!

This is just fucking absurd. Honestly. How he can deliver these howlers with a straight face is beyond me.

Does anyone here intend to vote for this cat? If so, why?

I've already decided to sit this election cycle out. There is no way I could sleep at night knowing I voted for either of these lying bastards (Obama and McCain).

Though, I guess I could write in that vampiric asshole Z. At least he has an awesome website!

I swear when I went to Lansing to see McCain speak in 2000, his delivery was much more animated and convincing. He knew what he was going to say and believed it. In recent days, he is reading from notes in such a flat-inflected and insincere manner, it makes me think he doesn't (My Friends) know what's coming next. Not good.

Yes, he was a much more dynamic and compelling presence in 2000 than he is now. At times it seems as though he's not even interested in winning.

He just looks tired. Not sleepy tired but chronic fatigue tired.

In my experience, all politicians lie. It's apparently necessary to lie in order to be voted into such a position.

The reason I will vote for McCain is because Obama's whole MO is to fatten up the government, (unfairly) redistribute the wealth of the nation, and pay for it all by raising our taxes.

Well, that, plus the fact that a Democrat-controlled White House AND Congress will lead us right down the gutter. We need a little balance. If Congress was 60% Republican, I could consider voting for Obama, since Congress could effectively cancel out the dumb ideas. But with the current Pelosi-led Congress, all those dumb ideas (taxpayers subsidizing college educations, for example) will breeze right through.

No great revelation there.

Agreed 100%.

This reality was brought into focus very clearly during the first four years of the Bush Admin.

I must have been napping. Can you remind me of something that shouldn't have been passed into law during Bush's first term? The tax cuts, maybe? (Seriously, I'm not pretending to know whether any stupid laws were passed during Bush's first term. I'm just honestly curious, and since it's very clear to you, I'd like to see a couple examples of what you mean.)

"Patriot" Act. Yes, I put it in quotes. Because there's nothing patriotic about it.

Pardon me, I should have said first six years.

And Shame Us pretty much ends the story with the Patriot Act. Mostly because that encompasses SO much of what has been done to essentially shitcan many of our Constitutional rights.

But, I'll add:

1. Unborn Victims Of Violence Act

2. Cutting taxes while spending to beat the band.

3. Absurd expansion of government.

4. Deregulation of the Clean Water Act.

5. Signing statements that essentially declare he doesn't have to abide by the bill he just signed into law.

There are tons more, but it's late and I'm kinda buzzed. But, this is a good start.

The fact that he did not use his veto pen until his sixth year should also be evidence enough for you. After all, that's the premise of our discussion, is it not?

Now, let me go on record as having been a big supporter of President Bush when he came into office. I was thoroughly disgusted with President Clinton and MANY of the things that he did while in office.

But Bush has done too many things that simply don't sit well with me.

I consider myself a conservative, but this neocon administration has been anything but. And their foreign policy has been just short of a complete disaster.
