China and civilian planes?

Well, this can't be good news to our long term domestic trade imbalance. Pretty sure civilian aircraft from Boeing have been big sales to China for a while now. Couple of decades from now, I can see Southwest and every other airline buying these things in further effort to "maximize" the bottom line.

Hey, there's a reason they lure companies in to do their manufacturing cheap there. We've trained them how to properly do it!

Well, a recent Newsweek (last week?) as the cover with a picture of the Statute of Liberty's back and the caption "A Post-American Era" to go along with the editor's new book. And of course, if Newsweek wrote it, it must be true...

Straight to the point really.

Don't forget one other thing though, will it make the corporate execs and stockholders more money in the next quarter?

How much of the electronics/components of current era planes are already made in China? A fair amount, I bet.
