Tire Wear
i am noticing my front tire is cupping. is this normal or is my suspension out? my rear tire is feathering on the edge of the grooves in the tire. i read an article saying that rebound issuses causes the feathering. any input

Re: Tire Wear
What pressures are you running and what kind of tire?

Re: Tire Wear
You might want to increase pressure a little bit. I can't talk to the Diablos, but the front Dunlops on my VFR would cup if I ran them at 36psi ... and no cupping at 38psi.
Also, check to make sure your head stock bearings are tightened correctly, and your front wheel bearings are good. You can sometimes see the tire wear from these before you feel them in the bars.

Re: Tire Wear
if i got parts wearing out that quickly i am going to be upset. they are not cupping bad, but enough that i can see it

I didn't catch how old the bike was, so I mentioned those parts. On my VFR, that 2 psi difference was enought to take tires that would show signs of cupping within 500 miles, to no cupping in 5000 miles. This trend continued over several sets of tires.

i will try to bump up the pressures a bit. i think i have about got my moneys worth out of them, i am just above 9800 miles on them. i was running the stock psi and i wound up dropping the rear due to it feeling a bit loose on me.

Re: Tire Wear
Cupping is common, and often not linked to anything in particular, and at 9800+ miles , you just need to shut up and buy new tires.

Some would likely say they were worn out 4k miles ago. But that depends on how abrasive the roads are. It is time. Best I had was about 12K from a front, but those tires weren't as sticky as the Diablos.

Re: Tire Wear
Corsas need to run higher pressures. I was running 33/36 on the track on the advice of some more knowledgeable folk. I'd imagine you'd want something a bit higher for the street, maybe 36/38.
edit: i missed that 9800 mile part. What The French, Toast? I haven't gotten more than 3400 miles out of a set yet.

now that we have established that i have worn out tires and low air pressure, should i go back with the same tires or would a 2ct give me a better feeling in the corner or maybe even a pilot power. i found the 2cts deliverd for 265.

Re: Tire Wear
I went with Corsa IIIs. Other than the 'stones it originally came with, I've haven't ridden anything else.
