Is a new tire needed after a dyno session?

Seems that I read somewhere that you should replace on since they might be damaged from being strapped. Is that bunk? Just need to know as I plan on FINALLY getting it done after Grattan (see if we had a member that brought one in.....)

There is a fellow over by Road Atlanta that does it and I am not wild about the drive but no one inspires me local and this guy is well recommended by a few including a number one plate that had an RC (yes he is biased via affiliation though)

They can get tore up if they spin. Most of the tire cos call them junk afterward.

You want to dyno with an old tire.

You need to replace the front too. They should always be replaced as a set after any dyno time.

FYI when I had my bike dyno tuned I think my chain came back at least an inch longer.

When I had my bike done they were very careful about tire placement. I couldn't identify any wear on the tire at all when I was done. I thought it was maybe due to the low power of my bike but I watched an '08 1KRR spend an hour on there and his still looked good when done. I think it comes down to individual operator and dyno.

Dan Kyle went through the reasons to replace with me, I went so far as to swap tires. I talked to Dunlop directly and they said definitely replace also.

The "team" I worked on also always found a take off to dyno with.

You should also replace your K&N sticker because the extra 17 rwhp it adds gets used up during the run.

I'll never forget the guy who was about to get his ZX-11 dyno'd at Deal's Gap. We told the operator not to start as soon as the bike was strapped in because we could see daylight through the chain (and this was prior to the run), it was stretched so bad. Apparently it was the original with over 20K miles on it.

You wanted him to finish breaking it in before he tried to dyno it?

It would make access to anything you guys might want to mess with easier.

Your PAIR is blocked off right?

If you guys are going to do work on the dyno, degree cams or something, then you probably should. But if you're just mapping, I would leave the fairings on. Especially since it's just race stuff.
