The kind that usually ends in me wadding my bike on the track. lol
Mainly street riding the twisties with trackdays thrown in there.

I would love to, but my vacation time I have already set aside for a trip back home in June, so no Grattan for me this year. One of these darn years I'll make it.

At the moment the front runners are....
-Another 600RR, just can't get enough of em. Loved my two '03's. Would most likely be an '07+.
-An '06+ R6, they just look so damn sexy.
But I'm not limiting myself to just those.

CBRVFR is looking to sell a very well sorted SV650. She ain't pretty but she runs strong.
-
The hype is low.

If you do most of your riding on the street with the occasional track day, the CBR is your bet. The R6 is a fantastic bike, but very much a precision track tool. It does not have a very usable power band for the street, with most of its power way top. I've often referred to it as a riding a bike with a turbo.
The CBR is also more comfortable and has a wider power band.
What are some of your other parameters when looking for a bike?

So obviously you are looking for a sportbike and not a cruiser... What you are riding now and is that the bike in your avatar?
Go with what you know. You cant go wrong with another CBR! I second what Bobcat states regarding CBRs.
ND4SPD, isnt CBRVFR throwing in a ride on his RC-30 with the purchase of his SV???

I'm baaaaack.
Rode an '08 600RR for a whole weekend a few weeks ago and what a bike. Having not ridden in quite some time I was sore as heck afterwards, but I expected that honestly. The difference between the '03's I had and the '08 was quite impressive.

Yes a sportbike for sure. The bike in my avatar was my last bike('03 600RR), got rid of that for reasons I certainly do not want to relive. LOL That F$%#^g B$#ch, I'm sure Mr.X will get a chuckle out of that. It's hard to stray from Honda after having owned a bunch of them, with the exception of "The Kawi", I've owned nothing but Honda's. I know if i was to get another brand that Mr. X would find someone else to go the Sox game with in June.

I suggest a Dorsoduro. Great bike on and off track. (Or so I've been told...) Great price for the bike too, I think.

Of course the other option that is fighting to be set free would be a 06-07 1000RR.

Nice! What first popped into my mind, while looking at that bike, was the Ultimate Super Motard lap! Coming on to the straight at Grattan, then brake hard for a left hand 180 degree turn out the entrance to the track, up the gravel hill, then a 90 degree right turn across the starting gate for a lap of the motocross track. Then at the bottom of that massive hill, on the other side of the pole barn, make a left back to the track entrance gate, then left on to the straight to run a lap on the asphalt... Just a thought...

It's Who You Know That Counts
Welcome back.
If I was buying a new sportbike right now, I'm pretty sure it'd be the 09 R1.

?
My votes are '08 600RR, 848, or the new R1.
...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG
-
The hype is low.
If my money were on the table, it would be the 07+ CBR. It has the best riding position for your canyon chasing and the aesthetics will keep me coming back.
The 848 is a wicked cool machine, but purpose built and will pretty much be a torture rack on the street.
The R1 is a marvel of technology, but I can't stand to look at it.
Your results may vary...

That '09 R1 is pretty damn nice. Guy here in town has one and good lord that thing just sounds awesome. I'll be getting a used bike most likely as right now my "cap" is about $8k. Just need to find the right deal on a good clean bike now. If I have to jump in the Titan and take a little road trip then so be it.
If I get a bike, I'll need a new helmet and jacket since I clearly don't have enough of either. lol

Have a good bud of mine going to look this bike over for me.....Mmmmmmmmm Repsol.

Repsol is a no go. My friend went and spoke to the guy and it has been crashed and is on a salvage title.
