That's going to be a great looking color combo. I can't wait to see it all put together!!
...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG
Man, they look awesome!! Much better than the white they were painted when I was using them.
Too bad Hammer doesn't live closer or I'd have him paint my gixxer. I'm working on drilling it. First time doing the drilling, what a PITA. Oh well, the local guy fixes as well as paints, so he can cover over the holes I really didn't want!

Yeah, I know, but it would cost probably 50 bucks one way....

Thanks for all the compliments, but it is not totally finished yet.
Just a couple of touch ups here and there are still in order.
And a stripe to match the tank, but I am not sure on it now. It looks great the way it is, but would not match up with the 2 black stripes on the tank. What are your thoughts?
08, I want to keep the tank the stock color since I'll swap between the street and track plastics. Hammer, looking at comparing the pics between the two plastics, wouldn't two 3-4" wide diagonal black stripes lined up with the black on the tank work? For that matter, I like it the way it is...
edit: something like this? I'm open to suggestions...

Umm not that. It looks like tony the tiger stripes. That's the sucky thing about having the big vent holes in the side farings. It doesn't leave you much surface to work with. You could also throw some vinyl red patches over the black on the tank or those leg grip stickers that would cover most of it up.
It seems to me like you need to publish a price list...
It is hard to post a price list due to many variables. Paint color, bodywork condition and how in depth you want to get as far as graphics and how many colors all depends on pricing. But I mainly do this for winter projects to keep me busy and not a mainstay to put food on the table so the prices are very fair.

Maybe you could throw some black vinyl on the side panels to match the wing of the tank too.
The black vinyl is an option.
Baketech has a 929 with the same graphics design and I can go over there and use his bike for eyeballing the wing on it without removing his bodywork. So the stripes can be done pretty easy. Just sand the clear that is on there and tape it up.

The 2 stripes is an option. But at the very least I would run a vertical line to intersect the 2 lines.

Now that is an idea.

And the red I have is very close to the original, the sun is making it look orange in my pics. But if you look at the tail lights on the truck, they look orange as well.

The more I think about it if it were me I'd watch ebay for a tank. One of my buddies bought one for his bike cheaper then what he could have had it painted for. (He scratched and put a small dent in it before I knew him) It was the right color so he just bolted it on and went. That way, heaven forbid, if something happened to it, it would just be the "track" tank. You could just paint it solid red.
