Is it titled? If it is, they give you a comprehensive with no liability.
Which means it would be covered because of fire, theft, and etc...

Usually not if it's a racebike. I have mine covered under my business policy along with contents insurance for tools and gear. The trailer itself is covered by a separate auto style policy. You can get "racebike" insurance, but it's usually dollar for dollar and doesn't make sense at all.

I will cover my trailer under my auto/rv policy so no big deal on that but.... since I don't have my own business... what are my options on the bike. I'm not asking for dollar to dollar, just want some kind of theft protection. I know it is insured in my garage since I reported all the toys in my policy but I am more worried to see the bike stolen with the trailer while traveling

State Farm currently covers trackdays under their insurance. I've heard that they are going to stop at some point... but currently it's a pretty good deal. However they do NOT cover if it is in a "Race", only trackdays. I have a buddy who totalled his CBR1000 at the track a bit ago and they took care of it.
edit: whoops... well I guess this would cover theft too

Thanks... I'll call them..
I'm also dealing with my insurance to make sure they cover track and race day in case I get hurt... Better be safe then sorry...

Re: Insurance for track/race bike and trailer
State Farm typically only insures bikes if you have a car policy with them. You have to look for an agent which is willing to "bend" the rules a bit if you just want to insure your bike... Good luck!
I've got an agent down here, but I don't think that would help you much in oHIo

Re: Insurance for track/race bike and trailer
I have statefarm and my good friend is our agent.....
It is a comprehensive policy, no liability. It will cover damage, theft, fire, and etc... like a standard comprehensive policy will.
-
It's not my fault
Re: Insurance for track/race bike and trailer
I have all my stiff under State Farm and they have been very good. The Trailer is only insured for itself. The if you have a title they will insure the bike for Fire Theft and wat not. All other contents are issured throught the house contents insureance.
If you have not you should also send you insurance company a list of Items that you have that have significant cost (Helmets, Leathers, Tools sex toys, etc.)

According to my State Farm agent, if the vehicle is used in any santioned competition event, it is not insurable under any policy they offer. I just got off the phone and he spent about 20 minutes with their Claims Office in Marshal double checking.

If you're just trying to cover theft, see if it's cover it under renter's or homeowner's insurance. I was amazed at the things I could claim under my renter's insurance.
Otherwise, you should be able to have it covered until comprehensive like DEPO said.

You really need to ask the agent flat out if he will put in writing that they will pay you xxxxx.00 if the bike is stolen or burned to smitherings in a fire. The last time I looked right in my agents eyes and asked him that question he just said: No fucking way . . . it's a race vehicle and no one will cover that under a normal comp policy. I have spent more than a million dollars with this guy over the past 30 years and he expects to see another mil before I retire. He wouldn't bullshit me . . .

Re: Insurance for track/race bike and trailer
To cover your bike:
I dont see why you cant get theft insurance for a track only motorcycle... You can have insurance on a vehicle that is not registered cant you? Most track orgs will cover you by stating you were receiving instruction at a trackday and the some insurance companies do cover accidents at the track. Just dont tell em you were racing.
To cover your ass....
You can talk to your insurance agent about accidental death or dismemberment policies... you can also look into personal health insurance. I definitely wouldnt ride if I didnt have some kind of regular health insurance

I coudln't be lucky like you Riz.
Acutally my trailer is cover thru my SUV insurance and just added thelft on it thru my homeowner insurance. Also kept my R6 insured like I had it before so at least I have it covered if it get stolen for what it's worth (blue book) ...better then nothing I guess.
