    Official 2009 Mileage Thread

At the end of the year (and beginning of a new one), thoughts turn to important things like "how much am I going to ride this year?"

Starting 2009, my odometer reads 9516. I'll revisit this thread a year from now to update.

My goal: Double the mileage on the clock. A tall order since I only rode 4622 miles in 2008. However, I did almost reach my 2008 goal of doubling the odometer since I started at 4894. I hope the farkles I'm currently installing will extend my riding season and I plan on using the bike for more errands this year.

I hope to put very little miles on the street, and as many on the track as possible. I put 1000 miles on my bike the first 3 weeks I had it. I figured at that rate it would be worth about nothing in 3 years when it will be time to upgrade.

This year probably won't hold a candle to last; we went to the Honda Hoot and the following month to Colorado. Being a little on the "old" side, I take my Magna on the long rides rather than my CBR (easier on the neck). My '06 barely has 8k on it.

What's the readout on the odometer say? Are you close to your goal?

Not enough miles on the track, but way more miles on the track than the street. Mission accomplished.

1300 on the RC and 5000 on the RR so far. It was a nasty rainy year though so I am surprised it is that high

~4400 right now, probably make 48-4900 by the end of the year.

Majority commuting, with a few great rides. (Though it rained last night and is sunny this AM, making today's commute spectacular)

3000 on the 'tard and 1000 on the new VFR. Almost no commuting miles.
...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG

I put about 20,000Kms on the ZX-6R. Keep in mind that includes a 6000Km trip from Ontario to Miami Beach, and then back.

I think it was just over 2000Kms on the track bike.
