At the auction you can't hardly give those things away right now. They are worth half what they were 2 years ago, without being molested. I think I'm gonna call that guy just to mess with him.

In Canada, that truck has a brand new list price of about 70k... with incentives you could get one for 55. A slightly used one is 35 at the auction. And he's got maybe 20 grand worth of crap on there that nobody else would neccesarily want.

I never took the Canadian part into perspective, but he's still wacked. On top of that the truck is ugly. I'm thinking he's going to own it forever, or take a huge hit.

I sold it to the Guy in Pittsburgh PA Sunday night. Met him at the bus station at 10:30 went over to the White Castle done the paperwork and he drove off in it back to PA. Have not heard from him, so I guess he made it. He owns a small used car dealership, but said he wanted the car for him personally.

Haha...this one is a gem! 2003 YAMAHA R6 BLACK AND RED (MINT)

What was the MSRP in '03? Probably $8000?

Edit: I just checked: it was $8099 for the red and black version. *chuckles*

I might become a Craigslist Crackhead and list the 'motard for some ridiculous amount because you never know who might be stupid enough to pay it.

Now for the rest of the story.

I was at a local shops open house. You know, blow up toys for the kids, free hot dogs, soda, discount dyno runs, etc. The motard was drawing quite the crowd throughout the day. Nothing else like it there for sure.

I finally decided to leave, went over and was strapping on my helmet. Some ghetto looking kid comes running over and says, "that your motard?" I just shook my head. Now he yells over the sound of the bike, "How much will you sell it for?" Well I had no intentions of selling it so I answer, "Ten Thousand." He pauses for about 2 seconds, says, "I'll give 8 grand cash." I turn off the bike, ask him if he has it now, and he gets a panic looked, says "no, (mumbles something about picking up daughter) how long are you going to be here?" I tell him that I was leaving right then. Before I can say another word, exchange a phone number, anything, he honestly sprints to his car and leaves with tires squealing. I unbuckled my helmet and waited 2 hours thinking that there just might be chance that the kid actually comes back with $8K. He looked like the type that kept a large roll of drug money under the bed. I waited around just long enough to get a really bad sunburn on my face and piss off my wife for not being around on a Saturday.

Moral of the story...even a motard that isn't for sale has a "Buy It Now" price. So if anyone wants to offer $8K, it's yours.

...but for those of you wondering it would be hard to build an identical one for $8K.

Price of decent donor XR650R $3000
    HRC kit $1000
    Full titanium ProCircuit eshaust $1000
BRP triple with Scotts Damper mount $600
    Renthal Bars $100
    Oversize Radiators $400
Precision Concepts Suspension $1500, I think that's a conservative estimate considering the unobtainium rear shock that's on the bike.
    Rims $1000
    Computer drilled airbox $80
    Headlight $80
    Taillight $80
    Sliders $80
    Vortex CDI $300
    Tires $250

So that's $9470 without figuring any labor on building the engine, or any of the other little incidentals like wiring, the SuMo fender, other stuff I forgot. I don't have anywhere near that much into it. Smart money is on buying a bike that someone has already built for MUCH less.

Not really. I've been riding the motard everyday, rain or shine. I didn't do that with the F4i. It was a fair weather bike. I'm just getting really anxious to get the motard on the track.

...but my wife still wants me to get something that she can ride with me. That's why I've been making the half-hearted attempt at adding a VFR to the mix. Unless someone offers me A LOT of money for the motard it isn't going anywhere.

Understandable. With my kid having a bike eventually I'd like to get some sort of a motard (probably crf450) I can use with him on the MX track and buy some other rims doubling as a motard.
