    Sad News.... RIP

A former student of mine who I have taught for almost six years died Tuesday in a motorcycle accident. She was the passenger.

I just saw her a week or so ago, when she came to visit a marching band practice.

    Sad indeed.....

    Yeah,

Throughout my 11 years of teaching you live with these things.

In my 3rd year a student that I knew, was not in my music program, but a small school and helped out the music department all the time with building things, so I came to know him. Got real depressed and pulled the trigger of a 357 in the basement of his house.

It was not a death, but it was like it.... a student who I taught in a general music class (survey course), was a real thug, but I talked to him a lot and warned him several times. You better change your ways or you will be in jail or dead. Yeah he is serving a life sentence for murder.

So it is hard to see and something that you know comes with the job.....

She was a nice young lady who was always trying to find herself.

    Its a shame....
