I debated sharing this as it's a bit personal...but keep this in mind with your family.
It hits really close to home as a few months back, my father almost died (actually, he did die, but came back) of a clot in his stent a bit under a year out from his angioplasty.
He was taken off his thinners for a foot surgery, due to concerns about bleeding from the surgery. This was a standard procedure, widely agreed on by his team of docs.
4 or 5 days off was all it took.
If you have family, or you have or get one yourself, if your doc asks you to quit taking your thinners, FOR ANY REASON, you want to get a second or third opinion.

This was a major part of my Father-in-law's death a few years ago.
