    Sometimes Life Just Sucks

This morning I got a call from the wife of my good friend Kevin. He didn't come home last night, and she wondered if I had heard from him. Things have been bad financially for them for the last few months. She was very upset that he had not come home. Filed a missing person report with the local police. I made some phone calls to those I knew that he might have contacted. Nothing.

A couple hours later I got a call from another friend who was Kevin's former boss. They found Kevin's body, apparently committed suicide. Dammit!!! x many, many

Aw damn, sorry to hear that Dale. It really makes you wonder what drives someone to do that. Had a 50 year old friend take his life 3 years ago...still don't know the reason why to this day.

Man, I'm so sorry to hear this as well, Dale. I've had some very tough times - we all have, I suppose. But I can't imagine why anyone would choose that route, and I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. May God comfort his family and friends, including you.

    Thanks guys.

The worst part of this is that he left a wife who has some fairly serious health issues, and a 22 year old son with Down's syndrome (severe).
They were in a bad place before, now it is worse in every way!

Please pray for Tammy and little Kev.

    Re: Sometimes Life Just Sucks

I think it is the final version of saying "I cannot cope any more". Some people think it is cowardly. I think, if you are depressed and hate the life you are leading, and in addition think you are letting down those around you (even if those people don't think that) it is at least understandable. Those left behind, however, are shattered by the pain and guilt.

If anyone ever gets close to this, ask for help from those around you.

My thoughts are with Tammy and Kev.

Dale, wish there was more that I could say other than I am sorry...if you need a shoulder, give us a call. Our house is always open to friends.... In the meantime, I will keep Tammy and Kev in my thoughts and prayers.
