    It's actually unsolvable without more info.

    Though it goes on for infinity, the last term is basically a bit less than 1 (Edit: a better definition is at most 1), so if we assume tau = 1, $24 and change.

    It'd be very much in Verizon's favor for tau to hit even 2.

    The limit term evaluates to 1. The exponential term would be 0 if the exponent were i*2*pi, but is undefined as it is written.

    Sounds more like an engineer than a mathematician to me.
