It isn't pretty when you spend two hours trying to put the emphasis on the "H" in "tHe" while slipping into every vocal trick the producer can think of . . . It all comes out very unnatural sounding and pretty strained.

I was just making a joke where I think she tries to do too much. of course I'm just basing this on the singles I've heard.

no idea on who yours is, doesn't even sound familiar to me.

His most famous song probably wouldn't be too popular in your case . . .

The perceived stereo space is a complex composition of varying time and phase relationships and something I enjoy working with. Take a listen to the 2 versions of Gunman for a different spin on the stereo soundstage.
mmm cant find much on her. Is that a drum machine?
I am listening to her a lot today

I'm pretty close to the hippy's age and I've seen him live; ironically at one of Neil Young's concerts. (the Bridge School Benefit) Still couldn't pull it out.

On Melissa Etheridge?

I have never mixed anything with a drum machine period. The Jacksons used to use them when laying down a foundation, but I always took them out for the actual mix. This is an old beater Ludwig studio set with only 4 drums, a hat and 2 cymbals.

you're working by association. Just listen to the part he sings by himself, it's a very distinctive voice (and the reason he was hired for this song).

For me, it's opera week. Wednesday Rosenkavalier (Richard Strauss), Thursday Merry Widow (Lehar) and tonight Tosca (Puccini). Otherwise, I bought some of the Steely Dan albums to remind myself.

I am going out to find myself. If I should return before I get back, tell me to wait.
