Re: What are you listening to?

Icky Thump- White Stripes

Diggin' it, reminds me of their first but with less distortion and a better recording.

Of course, I am listening to this one on an archaic, outdated format, and my other White Stripes is a new fangled CD...

Surprisingly, Virgin Superstores have a pretty good selection of vinyl. The only big chain left doing it.

Analog Room has a few Wheels albums, I'll look for it if I remember.

Listening to these guys, or the Animals or some of the artists in that vein remind me of grunge, 60's style. Lots of underrated stuff IMO.

Still haven't found anyone carrying the ZZ Top.

I like Tesla but wish I could erase "Signs" from my memory. Has to be one of the most overplayed songs ever.

Led Zeppelin at present - first album, self-titled. Can't seem to get unstuck from the '60's man... How about Jefferson Airplane's "After Bathing at Baxter's"? Or "Crown of Creation"?

Re: What are you listening to?

The Great Courses - Shakespeare: Comedies, Histories, and Tragedies

Available free through most libraries - I've also listened to the series on Mark Twain. Still waiting for the definitive series on Groucho Marx, though.

Very entertaining and informative. I recommend these. They have history, psychology, science and literature, among other things. Mostly on CD, though some older libraries have them on tape for the analog guys.
