    Any Ideas on SUV/Truck?

I am leasing a 2004 Nissan Armada (I just Love that SUV) but since I have been going to a lot of track days this past 1 ½ year , I have gone WAY over my mileage and the offer I am getting now from Nissan, I may have to take a buy out now to save myself around $5000 of mileage at the end of my lease in December. The amount they are offering me is the buy out that shows for the end of my least (12/2007), the next 7 payment, and no charge what’s so ever.

Now, I would need to find a vehicle on their lot. I have found a used 2006 2 door Titan (red – I love silver but oh well) with 20,000. Also checked the new2007 Pathfinder, the 2007 4 doors Titans, and couple other used vehicle that really didn’t turned me on so now I’m lost and have few questions for you all.

If you have a pickup truck, how do you like it?
Is pickup truck ride rough? I mean the ARMADA is just awesome on the road... very comfortable that’s why I was looking at the Titan; it’s very similar on the inside?
If you have a V6 SUV (pathfinder can pull up to 8000 pounds), do you pull a trailer (around 6X12) and how do you like it?
Any experience you like to share on things I should think about?
I camp in my armada at times to save money so is getting a pick up a bad idea?
I know I will be disappointed for a while with anything else (since I am downsizing) but any comment would be great.
    Thanks
    V~
PS: I like those ugly new TOYOTA SUV but not sure they would take my Armada

A crew cab would be good for you as well, maybe an extended cab would do well since it will be no time till Kevin goes on his own and it will be you and the little man. You can put a camper on the bed and still sleep in the back, may be more accommodating that the Armada. I thought about an SUV when I bought my truck, but just could not bring myself to do it. My crew cab rides well and pulls the trailer awesome, it is a V8 though. If you do go with a V6 I would not get anything smaller than a 4.0 liter.

I could almost sleep in the Crew cab... it's huge. The 2006 red titan is not a crew cab but still very roomy.

I'm in the same boat as you V... looking for something to pull the new trailer but I just can't get myself to settle for a pickup.... I'm not in a huge hurry though..I just don't wanna put all the wear and tear on the folks' SUV.

Only one piece of advice: Don't get a flease, if that is the only way you can afford the vehicle you cannot afford the vehicle.

Get an Altima and rent/borrow a truck when going to track days.

I bet in the end it would be less expensive.

    What he said.

Or buy the Altima/Maxima/Sentra and then buy a cargo/passenger van and call it a day. I've used a van and a truck to haul my bike and the van beats hauling in a truck by a mile.

By "ugly Toyota SUV" I'm sure you must mean the FJ Cruiser. They're under 30 grand fully loaded and with the 239hp 4.0 V6 would have no trouble with your trailer. Definitely easier on fuel than your Armada as well.

Not really since i go to a track at least 3 weekend per month... I put around 1200 miles a month just for track/race days. renting a truck plus a car payment wouldn't be cheaper beside, the day I'll buy a car will be when I can get a 2 door sport one

That's it... the FJ Cruiser... I looked at one yesterday... kind of ugly but I found a silver one and oh my.... I like that it's different... It cought my eyes but now is finding out if Toyota would take a buy out of my lease which not sure they will.

Also, the Pathfinder as better hp then the FJ Cruiser. The one thing I didn't like about the pathfinder was there's no arm rest...wtf ???? like what am I suppose to lean on? The middle thing is way back so can't put my arm on it. that was a big downside for me... Got to be confortable.. other then that, it was ok... not in love with it but can't go back to my Armada... If I wait till december to buy it out, I'll have to pay 18,000 plust the mileage $5000.... it won't be worth $23,000.

So, still thinking which that's hurting right now.

You don't want the FJ. It has horrendous blind spots.

And you've noticed that I drive better then you right?

I will be spending my week test drive some titans, pathfinder, and used 2006 suv/truck... I'm kind of bummed cause ARMADA kicks butt and I feel safe in that thing.

Nissan is supposed to offer the Pathfinder with the 5.6 V8 next year.

Make sure you look at a V8 4Runner too.
