Real Life Pics

I originally bought a Panasonic AV50 about 4 years ago so I could put it in my jacket pocket while snowboarding and not worry about puncturing a lung if I fell on it. After 3 full years of abuse, I replaced it last year with a Nikon Coolpix S5 (6MP, .5sec startup time).

I've taken to keeping my camera with me all the time because I realized over the years that not only is life a lot more fun if you just relax and enjoy it, it's a lot funnier too. And I kept missing easy opportunities to capture the moments.

All the pics posted here are pics taken personally. Nothing downloaded or emailed. Along with the thread to get out and Ride America, I invite you all to do the same. Get out there, explore the world around you and post up your experiences. Then come here and post the pics that make you laugh, say WTF or just make you shake (or nod) your head.

I've had many days like this lately:

Louisville, KY is either edited by engrish speakers or they're doing this on purpose:

There are more of these in Louisville than I can count. Most of them are doing 40mph in the left lane:

I've got some pictures like that from when my dad and I drove cross country several years ago. I'll have to see if I can dig them up. Some funny stuff out there.

I got this one during my last trip to KY. It was inside a restaurant on Lake Malone.

Re: Real Life Pics

1 Parking garage downtown Cleveland. The sign really says "Remember floor x"

2 Self explanatory.

3 Sign on a strip mall leading to a client.

4 Street sign in a nearby town

I have another that I can't find, which is of an RTA bus a few houses down from mine. The interesting part is that the bus is sitting on the particular property's tree lawn stuck with half of it sticking out and blocking the street. Bus driver said someone cut him off...cops said he fell asleep.

Re: Real Life Pics

Just the other day I was leaving work and the Weinermobile drove by. I stopped next to it at the stop light and wished I had a decent camera, so I only got a crappy cell phone pic of the big weiner. I dont think the kid in me will ever grow up enough to not like the weinermobile

Somewhere I have to have a picture of Kentucky's "Big Bone Lick' state park and the (now renamed) "Big Bone Lick Baptist Church"!

Oh yeah, I forgot. Big Bone Road conjoins Beaver Rd.

Interesting that Big Bone Lick is on Beaver road

Somewhere I have picture of 3 leather clad riders bent over showing their backsides under the sign for Big Bottom park sign in southern Ohio.

I saw this two cars in Florence, Italy, last week.
The yellow one was electric. The tomato with the white stripe is gas powered.
Also saw some electrical scooters but couldn't get the camera out in time.

The Smart Sport is actually a pretty decent looking 2 seater econosports car but it doesn't look like they're bringing them here. Saw a couple as they were blowing past me in the Jeep in Germany.

smart USA - open your mind to the car that challenges the status quo

Re: Real Life Pics

We have the ForTwo and the ForTwo roadster. They're sold here through Mercedes-Benz dealers and at $23000+ they're kind of a pricey fashion accessory for yuppy wives and dorks. At 15 grand I think they'd be a good deal.

Re: Real Life Pics

I'm on the entirely wrong PC for this, as I have done the same thing as Mr. McDonough since about 2003 with my Elph S400.

but in the meantime, here is just an interesting photo I got using the Garmin/Google plugins.

Can anyone (besides beedy-eh) identify the interesting yet unofficial government landmark I passed by in this 'photo' ?
