The joys of parenthood. This is what I saw yesterday morning when I went to get "Dubs" out of his crib. Mom's one day a week to get to sleep in so it was all mine. He was smiling.

Is there any other way to do Vegas?

All I wanted to do this evening was watch a movie.

    My TV died yesterday.
Personal laptop's CD drive wouldn't spin the DVD up - laser is dirty. Don't have a cleaning kit, canned air didn't do the trick.
Work laptop had audio but picture wouldn't show.

So, I improvised. Yanked DVD-ROM out of barebone computer I had sitting in the office, attached to my laptop with the help of some adapters, patched the audio out to my stereo.

Yeah, it's ghetto - but it works like a charm.

Nothing in the near future. I'd love a plasma but I have a lot of natural light in the living room so glare could be a problem from what I've read. Don't like any of the LCD's that I've seen - something about the picture just doesn't look right. That leaves LED which is way out of my price range at this point and is still pretty new. Maybe prices will drop enough on them by Christmas - we'll see.

When i went to have our TV fixed, the shop had several "refurbished" sets for sale. They looked decent. Just an idea.
They might be interested in your set.

When I moved the HD DVR to the plasma TV since the LCD broke, I can say the plasma is much sharper and brighter.
PS3 connected to the plasma is tons better than with the LCD.
We paid more than double for the LCD.

Thanks for the ideas. A buddy of mine offered to let me borrow an extra one he has in storage so I may do that. Other than an occasional DVD I put in, I don't really watch TV so I wouldn't be missing much.

An old classic. It was tied at the local strip when I went by this morning. I'd love to have one of these or a Gullwing someday. Although I did notice that there is a current auction for a P-51 on eBay.

Radials are on the edge of insanity when it comes to engine design...

The only P-51 I found on e-bay last night was a scale version, did I miss a "real" one?

I watched a Desmosedici not meet reserve on Sat...for some reason that was painful.

But man, do they sound sweet. It's hard to beat standing behind one (or more) radials listening to the sound and smelling that burnt leaded Avgas.

A few shots from the Kalamazoo 'Airzoo' taken earlier today (which is why I'm not at Grattan - yet).

The SR71 has a physical presence, like it's alive. My 3 yr old was actually frightened of it at first, then merely awed (like Daddy).

My 4 yr old was in heaven.

It's quite dark in the building, thus the low-qual shots.

AFAIAC, that's pretty much the epitome of piston powered machinery.

Not even one little argument here.

Not the kind of thing that I think I could ever own by myself but if I were to find the right group of 3-5 guys Partnerships work very well with planes.
