They're predicting extreme flooding here unless we get a very gradual thaw.

We're under constant flood warning/watch here. Lake Wateree is already 5 1/2' above normal levels. It's probably going to get worse as the snow in NC starts to melt.

We're going to make an attempt at one more NC or VA ski trip this weekend so it's not all bad.

Last night it had already been snowing for 36 hours straight and they were predicting 40 hours more. It still hasn't been heavy but the wind picked up so the roads got bad later this morning. They weren't too bad first thing this morning so the schools were all on normal schedule, by 10am they were all announcing early dismissal.

We're well ahead of our normal rainfall right now but it's following years of underages, though not quite drought. I think this is why despite some real heavy storms (for us), we've had minimal flooding and issues.

I'm sick of the rain, but I hope we get another 10 inches and our underground aquifers get refilled. The Tahoe snow pack is going to do us some favors too.

It's sad how little snow we've had this year.

I was in Toronto about three weeks ago and was shocked at the lack of white stuff. We had more on the ground in Indiana than Ontario

Rookies. We received nearly 30 inches in a few days back in November. It was so much snow that I got my Tacoma stuck up to the bumper and had to put chains on just to get out. Nothing was canceled. Business as usual ...

We got our first legitimate storm - 8-10 inches.

I drove through 12-15" drifts, 6" of rutted packed snow and black ice this morning.

A good test for those Continental tires - I'm still enchanted with them.

Had a hangar collapse at Dulles during the first round that caught about $200M worth of aircraft.

It'll be weeks before we assess the damage and subsequent monetary amounts...

We're getting hammered for the second time in less than a week. I took some pics. See if you can spot my trailer .

Also, I've shoveled the driveway and cleared off the car twice today and I'm sure there's more of that in my future.

And in a final note, dumbass Pfizer was open this morning even though this was supposed to be an epic blizzard. No one in my group went in for good reason and I've been checking the weather phone number all morning and they just changed the message from "open" to "closed". You F'ing morons, now you made people come in to work just to close and send them home at noon in arguably worse conditions. Inconsiderate bastards.

    That is all.

Yup! Not much has changed with this most recent "storm". I just got home and shovelled about an inch of the white stuff. THAT'S IT!!!!

Mind you I'm about an hour west of toronto, but I don't think it's much different there.

The snowfall here has put us waaayy over budget for snow removal and it's something that is kinda normal out here so I'm sure this is really going to affect a lot of city budgets around the country.

I'll tell you what ... you can have the majority of the plows in Montana (since they hardly ever use them) and you can send all that snow our way. I want to get a few more days in of chest deep, blower powder.

Supposed to get 2-4" here by tomorrow morning. It started coming down about 30 minutes ago and there was already a close call at the intersection by my house.
