London Ontario received 26" of snow New Years day (and this is just the beginning ), no major accidents to report. I have to say I like JohnnyDiablo's weather much better.

Got the call about 4pm. School is closed again tomorrow.

    Forecast: cold, partly cloudy.

Also, just got a call saying we're on delayed report to work too.

It was -7 the other morning when I climbed into the deer stand. We had somewhere between 5 and 8 inches of snow last night and today and it is still snowing. And right after this is the kind of temps Maxib is talking about.

I just talked to a family member who'd been to a Korean War memorial.

It claimed at the "Frozen Chosin" it got down to 80 below with windchill!

    Holy crap.

Everything is closed or delayed here today because of freezing rain that went on all night and is still going. It isn't quite cold enough for it to be causing the mess that it could be but it's still pretty bad.

Wow! It is pretty warm and mild here. "Warm and mild" being a relative term. Mid 40s and no snow. Montana mid-winter malaise.

Yeah, my dad said they were flirting with record highs in Boise, 50ish.

We technically are above average here at 30F. I think that's the problem. If this stuff was coming down as snow we'd be in much better shape.

We just went from "weather delay" to "weather cancellation" because the roads are too bad to be out...so naturally I just went out chiseled off all of the ice and we're headed to the mall.

Storm is supposed to be over on Sat. It's going to be a mob scene up there.

I went to Kirkwood after a 6 foot dump once, I had to laugh at the skiiers looking for lost poles in the pow-pow.

I can only imagine. The stories my brother tells me of the shit show up there makes me bust out laughing. He regularly skis Northstar and Heavenly. And the traffic he describes because of it ... well ...
But then he shows me pictures of his 4Runner completely buried or his buddies Tahoe totally under snow makes it almost worth tolerating it. Almost...

It's snowing pretty steadily on us right now and looks like it will continue for awhile. We're supposed to keep getting snow for at least the next 36 hours but it isn't coming down heavily.

We've basically had records in every way that they measure snow records this year. We're at 60ish days straight with over 5" of snow on the ground. The old record was 54. We've already had the snowiest December ever. We were only a few inches shy of all time snowfall record that was set in 1895 and we still have a long time left to break that this winter and that was before the last couple days of snow so we might already be there. I realize that our 'record' snowfall is still a lot less than some you people that are further north but it's not normal to us so we're tired of it. The roads are really suffering. We always have terrible potholes but nothing like I'm seeing right now. I expect any day to have massive damage to my car.

I remember the last time it dumped like this and there was a final surge. I was in PA in college.

Shortly after the last surge of snow, it warmed enough that everything melted and the Susquehanna River flooded everything and everywhere. I hope that doesn't happen again. It was ugly.

Central Jersey (our area) and north got only a few inches. South Jersey, DE, MD...up to a couple of feet. Usually, it's the other way around. Had the snow thrower all ready, but didn't need it. Just shoveled.
