..doesn't argue politics on a motorcycle board
Inglourious Basterds
I think I misspelled that right.
OK, Brad, all is forgiven for Benjamin Button.
It's funny, violent, suspenseful, very violent, well shot, extremely violent, historically inaccurate, over-the-top violent, quite long, graphically violent, entertaining, and did I mention it's kinda violent?
My wife loved it.
It won't stand the test of time like Pulp Fiction, but I have a soft spot in my heart for any movie featuring Nazis getting dismembered, shot to pieces, beaten into pulp with baseball bats, carved up, blown up, fricaseed and otherwise disposed of.
All in all, good, wholesome entertainment. Listen for some familiar voice-overs.

Who's driving?
Any violence?
-
I wonder if its violent...
-
I want to go see it, so does the mrs.
We were wondering about the amount of violence though, any input?
If you think that loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to really ride that thing could do.

Feeling the need for a road trip
We saw it last night.... It was FANTASTIC!
Warning - I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but it was a little violent.
Yes - I am the girl creature of which he speaks... * sigh *

A Tarantino film not that violent? Compared to what?

The last scene that the Hitler character appears in is awesome!

Have you seen Rambo? (the newest one.) Saving Private Ryan? 300?
I was chuckling through most of Basterds and Rambo...actually I was outright laughing through Rambo...and replaying parts with slow-mo.

Oh and Pulp Fiction was the bubblegum film of 1994, Natural Born Killers was the movie

We almost skipped this one because of Pitt. IMO he couldn't act his way out of a High School Musical. But his character was tolerable in Basterds. I'm glad we saw it.
-
But wait...stop beating around the bush...is it violent??
-
glad to hear the review is good. Love the trailers "we're in the nAzi calling business.....".

I know you have a special regard for Oliver Stone, but still - Fish On..
Pitt looked like he had a great time - however, the actor who played the "Jew Hunter" was phenomenal.

Christoph Waltz. He was pretty good. I had to keep reminding myself that he wasn't Tim Roth, though.

back to the movie: It was really good and really baaad. For instance, one scene lasts waaaaay too long with waaaay too many subtitles. I almost went to sleep. I give it 3 out of 5. Very good acting by all but Brad. That accent was just too dumb.

You have to go into it understanding his body of work. Primarily, Snatch and Fight Club - both movies I consider freaking awesome. But you have to go into it with the same expectation as a Keanau Reeves flick.

Pitt's an Ozarks boy, born & bred - bet he just channelled someone from his old neighborhood (trust me - we lived in his hometown for awhile).
As for the movie, I'll have to disagree that any of the scenes were too long. Tarantino never wastes a shot. Every single second is there for a reason, every detail is intentional. He is a master of the craft.
And Tornado is a pro at telling me when the gory parts are over so I can uncover my eyes again
w00t! I can change my own oil. Can't get my bike on the rear stand without help, but hey, baby steps.

Exactly. He got that plot right from the daydreams of a 12 year old Jewish kid.

Agreed. "Jew Hunter" wins the acting award. He played it so well I wanted to kick him in the nuts myself.

Since it's a related film...we watched Planet Terror last night.
I think that is the bloodiest movie I've ever seen, WAY over the top.
