    Inglourious Basterds

I think I misspelled that right.

OK, Brad, all is forgiven for Benjamin Button.

It's funny, violent, suspenseful, very violent, well shot, extremely violent, historically inaccurate, over-the-top violent, quite long, graphically violent, entertaining, and did I mention it's kinda violent?

    My wife loved it.

It won't stand the test of time like Pulp Fiction, but I have a soft spot in my heart for any movie featuring Nazis getting dismembered, shot to pieces, beaten into pulp with baseball bats, carved up, blown up, fricaseed and otherwise disposed of.

All in all, good, wholesome entertainment. Listen for some familiar voice-overs.

I want to go see it, so does the mrs.

We were wondering about the amount of violence though, any input?

Warning - I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but it was a little violent.

Awesome movie! Highly recommended. It wasn't that violent. They just had some over-zealous interactions with the Nazi's.

Have you seen Rambo? (the newest one.) Saving Private Ryan? 300?

I was chuckling through most of Basterds and Rambo...actually I was outright laughing through Rambo...and replaying parts with slow-mo.

We almost skipped this one because of Pitt. IMO he couldn't act his way out of a High School Musical. But his character was tolerable in Basterds. I'm glad we saw it.

Pitt looked like he had a great time - however, the actor who played the "Jew Hunter" was phenomenal.

Christoph Waltz. He was pretty good. I had to keep reminding myself that he wasn't Tim Roth, though.

back to the movie: It was really good and really baaad. For instance, one scene lasts waaaaay too long with waaaay too many subtitles. I almost went to sleep. I give it 3 out of 5. Very good acting by all but Brad. That accent was just too dumb.

You have to go into it understanding his body of work. Primarily, Snatch and Fight Club - both movies I consider freaking awesome. But you have to go into it with the same expectation as a Keanau Reeves flick.

Pitt's an Ozarks boy, born & bred - bet he just channelled someone from his old neighborhood (trust me - we lived in his hometown for awhile).

As for the movie, I'll have to disagree that any of the scenes were too long. Tarantino never wastes a shot. Every single second is there for a reason, every detail is intentional. He is a master of the craft.

And Tornado is a pro at telling me when the gory parts are over so I can uncover my eyes again
