Exercise not a Factor for Obesity

This week it's diet, not activity levels, that makes you fat, based on some study comparing fat ladies in Chicago who don't exercise and skinny ones in Nigeria who don't exercise.

To lose or maintain, calories in must be ET or LT calories out, period.

+1000

I thought I ate pretty well, but in November I bought a fitness / diet tracking app for my blackberry and started counting calories. Now that I'm paying attention, I look back and estimate that I might have been taking in 3-4000 calories a day.

Since I started counting I've kept at or under 2000 a day and I've shed 10 pounds of fat. I've been drinking a lot less too, knowing how quickly that adds to the calorie count.

Total Fitness. Definitely check it out.

edit: I should add that I'm now a member of that elite club of douchebags who bring their phone to the gym... The exercise tracking works really well for weight training. I input my weight/sets/reps and it plots my progress.
