Analog sound for Ipods.
I thought this could help some people put up with the Ipods.

I'm no audiophile but I think that thing is cool.
...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG

I've been called a moron before but I'm not oxidized yet... not too much anyways.

There is no analog sound created in this device. It is only a control amplifier to plug your digital iPOD into a set of speakers.
Any decent solid state control amplifier would be a much better choice and have much less negative effect on the sound (although the sound is already sub-listenable so why bother) . . .
I can sell you a chrome box with 4 big assed tubes in it that looks really cool for only $1,500.00. I'll even guarantee it will reproduce the iPOD flawlessly. You won't need any expensive speakers either, a set of $20.00 destop computer speakers are all you need. If you want, I can mount a huge transformer on it as well and run the tubes at 140% of their rated rail so they glow an awesome purple color!

I'll agree this is all about style...
That said, I did like amplifying digital source with my EL-34 tubes in the office as the distortion of the tubes did make the sound more mellow.
With analog source, I've enjoyed playing with both, but as a rule I stick to my solid state...

I don't even own an ipod, but in my case, you can compare a live philharmonic orchestra and a cow's fart, and I'll use the smell to tell them a part.
