    BlackBerry Storm

    SOLD!

Not a big fan of buying first releases but I've been waiting for a prime time to switch to Verizon.... this seems like it.

I have a Pearl (ver. 1) now and have been pretty happy with it so I'll put some trust in the new BlackBerry working properly out of the box.

They are not available yet here, what is the price of them now?

The Bold you mean? I think they want 450 for just the phone or 300 on a contract.

Yep, the bold. Looking at upgrading as soon as it is available.

I'm all in for the Storm as well. I've been due for an upgrade and almost pulled the trigger on a Pearl. But with the recent vids of the Storm - I'm all in!

Storm's "click-through" touch screen is supposed to be pretty cool by all accounts so far. The 3.2mp camera is pretty sweet too. AND it will come with an 8gb micro-sd card.

[threadjack] Is your service through Verizon? If so, have you been able to use the map/GPS feature?

    [/threadjack]

I like my 8830, as well. The fact that it doesn't have a camera doesn't bother me in the slightest.

From what I've read thats a rumor....be sweet if it were true.

I saw a website taking pre-orders for $699.99 If the price is in that range my response will change from SOLD! to "just looking thanks"

I like the alarm clock mode....thats just cool.

With the ability to view MMS messages without going to some website and the option to forward texts.

Plus be able to access the battery without sending it out.

Maybe. But everything will be billed as an iPhone wannabe. And really, I don't know that I'd want an iPhone ... at least not with AT&T's junk coverage.

Unlimited is the only way to go. :P It's only $30/month here I think. Love my 8330 though.

Werd. Too hard to keep track of what you've used and going over that amount can be relatively easy.

It is nice but not a must to activate. We have 7 BB at work in out dept and only 2 have full data plans on them.

    It's mandatory with Verizon.

Yeah...I guess I should have said Verizon. They're the only service that works worth a crap where I live. AT&T lists us as "moderate" coverage and Alltel is worthless since that's what my work uses.

And unlimited data isn't a must for me. I'm not important enough to need to check my email and internet at all times. I just wanted a phone I could put my own programs on to use it how I want to...not like Verizon wants me to. Plus WM5 sucks so I wanted to try the BB OS. Oh well. Say lah vee
