Got a PS3 - Pretty good so far.

Well I finally made the plunge, due to the winter blues and bought a PS3.

So far I only have Resistance and played it only briefly. Not a bad game but I still like the game play better in Gears of War.

I have it hocked up to a 1080p 62” Toshiba but for some unknown reason it will only accept a 1080i input. The resolution is good though.

I will post more later, once I have a chance to play it more.

Post your gamertag for 360 so I can add ya.

Good luck with the PS3...I guess you have it hooked up via HDMI? That could be the only way you'd get 1080p

You'll be hardpressed to find a game with better gameplay then Gears Of War for awhile yet. The game is amazing

Picked mine up today... Resistance is very cool. I have motorstorm but haven't put it in yet. I downloaded the ridge racer and GT demos. Also very cool. Now I need to get a bluray movie to watch...

That sucker gets hot... I'm going to have to relocate it somewhere open but still away from where the kids can get to it.

Let me know what you think about Motorstorm, so far the reviews are varied.

As far as a Blue Ray movie, I picked up Ice Age as that movie is made for 1080p and wow it was clear and you do notice a difference.

Purpdust~

Is the PS3 louder than the 360? I know they're both kinda loud with all the fans and such, but the PS3 seemed like it was a little louder.

Re: Got a PS3 - Pretty good so far.

I have not noticed any diffence, I will check tonight. The PS3 is heavier though with the power supply being internal.

Ah...I was just curious. I don't really have a need or want for a PS3 now anyway, but just seeing one in the store, it seemed like it was really loud.

Resistance is a really fun game multiplayer... Gears of War is also really fun to play co-op. We just beat it on whatever the hard setting is, that game was pretty crazy!!!

Re: Got a PS3 - Pretty good so far.

I have still yet to purchase a gaming console in my life. The closest is someone giving me their unused Saturn way back in the day (only had one game. ).

I just can't justify spending $$$ to play 1 game and when you reach the end, that's it....

I guess for the same reason why I don't PC game much either.

How does the Playstation Network interface compare to Xbox Live? I'd imagine that Live is a lot more polished and works nicer since it's been tested more.

Gears of War on Insane is pretty hard to beat...that's the hardest level once you've already beat it on Casual or Hardcore.

Honestly I don't even know.... I haven't actually played it on network... and all I've done as far as the system goes is sit down on his couch and grab a controller...

Now that you say that I can't remember if we beat it on insane or just hardcore... I know we've beaten it several times and its definately been hella harder one of em....

Re: Got a PS3 - Pretty good so far.

I haven't really tried the online play... It is integrated into the game so not sure how the platform makes that differ? I liked being able to download some of the demos etc. I'm on call tonight so unlikely to get to play any.

Ya having two people that play in my place makes Co-Op play very fun, I also always start games on the hardest level so that it extends the play time. Hopefully I will have time to do the Unlocked setting soon

I have heard that with Resistance you should play the game first or else you will not have any of the unlock items.

You do get some unlocked items, but I didn't realize that you could use them in multiplayer... Air Brake is a sweet weapon, so is ion gun thingy...

It's a shame that the best game for PS3.......is still on PS2

You PS3 people should invest in God Of War 2 and the original if you haven't. One of the best games ever.
