Yeah.........so?
Bizarre MP3 player problem.
I have an incredibly low rent Creative MuVo which has served its master admirably for nearly a year now.
But now I am having a problem with certain podcasts that I listen to.
Quick facts:
-When I load the shows, all of them show up as being on my player.
-When I turn on my player, some shows are missing.
-When I plug it back in to the computer, missing shows are listed as being on the machine.
-Tends to be the same shows each time.
-If I load "bad" shows first, unplug the player from the comp, then plug it back in and load the rest of the shows, it will sometimes make previously loaded "bad" show disappear (yet still show up in the menu on the computer).
Anybody else ever had a problem like this? It's driving me bonkers. Might I need to check for updated drivers?

No. Just get a turntable. I don't think you'll find any missing shows with this setup.

Now in stereo

Engineers say "Not so fast."

Re: Bizarre MP3 player problem.
Is it a solid state(flash) memory or is it a card you can load into it? Are you able to restore it to factory default settings with any CD media that might have come with it or a download from the manufacturer's website?

Yeah.........so?
Re: Bizarre MP3 player problem.
I have the cd for it.
And it's flash.
Abtech, when they start pressing my political podcasts on LP I'm hoping either you or LTL will hip me to it.

I think they're only available on cassette . . .

Since it's flash there's also a chance that it may have reached the end of its life. Flash memory doesn't have a very long shelf life if it's written to frequently.

Oh, I've beaten the hell out of it over the last year.
Should I restore it to its default setting and see if that helps? I'm a complete idiot about these little gadgets.

I get them all off of iTunes and have never actually checked particular formats.
BUT, I've been listening to all of these for quite some time. AND, it seems to be one or two shows in particular that keep doing this.

That's what makes me think they are using a format you player does not support. If they have the iTunes thing going, it could very well be AAC, which is a format iPods have no problem with, but other players may or may not support.

Re: Bizarre MP3 player problem.
Which means this show must have changed its format midstream?
Good point, but, I CAN load this show by itself. But when I try to load it with the others, it's gone.
I'm thinking maybe Z was correct about my player having run its course.
But thanks for the input, NDD!! It's much appreciated.
