Iphone 3g banter (sorry our Northern friends)

There is another thread on the WWDC, but I didn't think this was suited for that thread. It's a bit on gouging your i's out...

It is excessive here, but reasonable.

Having a 400mb wireless plan doesen't even cover a month of most podcasting for most, which I think is just rude.

Side note.....I want to pick up this new phone before I leave for Laguna next week because of the GPS built into it. I like my current iPhone but the added functionality (speed, GPS) and better battery life are worth it for $199, especially considering I can sell my current one on FleaBay and recoup some/most of the costs.

I called my local Apple store today and the lady said 800-1000 people in line, fock me, I don't do queues. Maybe it will lighten up by next week

For 199$ I'd do it, I was actually trying to see what the canx fee is on a plan if I bought it and then ditched the plan the following week.

But the q9h has gps and alotta other nice shit, that Im actually pretty happy with it. The touchscreen-for-my-daily-driver thing gets a little pained for me.

The spell checker is better on Mac. There is even a grammar checker for those that need it (though it does not support Ovine)

1 million sold in a weekend. Not too shabby. I guess that goal of 10 million by the end of this year wasn't all that optimistic, afterall.

Got one today, work phone. I did not really want it, I was cool with my blackberry. But we will see how this works. Already i see a flaw, no place for a memory card. And it smudges and looks like shit.

That did not last long. Got it activated after down loading all of the apple bullshit and 2 hrs of conversation with AT&T as well as apple at 1:00 this morning. Then got it working when i went to the AT&T store. I did not make it back to town and decided both my boss and I were sending them back. IMO they are a POS. No pic messaging and the keyboard is not made for my ham sized hands. I spelled like I was on a 3 day drunk on that thing. I like my Black Berry curve better. But it did have some good features to it though, ability to connect to Wi-Fi, and the option of connecting to Microsoft exchange server without a separate server. But it just does not compare IMO to the BB.

I've got the new one, and had the previous one.
In no way trying to be funny, my experience was very different. I picked the new one up yesterday at the ATT store. The clerk activated it then I hooked it up at home. It transferred over all my contacts, apps, settings, etc, then downloaded the 2.01 software, no problems at all. Working in telecomm I've had dozens of phones to use over the years and the iPhones, either gen, are the best phones I've used. Apple constantly updates the software so if a bug arises, a fix is there pretty quick. Not perfect but a far cry from the Evil Empire's software solutions where you could be waiting eons for a fix.

There is no need to pic message on the iPhone. You email photos, so you don't have to pay for picture messaging. This saves $. The keyboard is very easy to use but there is a learning curve. I'm as fast with the keyboard as any other qwerty keyboarded phone.

The apps available now are awesome. Weatherbug is kewl, you can check photos at weather stations in your area. They are tons of converters (currency, length, volume, weight, etc), games, all sorts of shit. They even have that new app where you can do 0-60 times, g meter, you name it. It really is the coolest phone I've used. I'm happy with mine.
