I have no doubt in my mind it's possible. The trick amongst others is mass producing it reliably and maintaining cost effectiveness.

A good buddy of mine's grandfather bought some sort of Chevy back in the 60's. Took it back to the dealership several times over a 3 week span because the fuel gauge stayed at full. The dealer kept insisting that the gauge was fine and even replaced it. It ended up turning out that someone from GM came out and asked to have the carburetor replaced on the car because it was 'experimental' and should've never left the factory. He was getting about 60mpg out of the thing. Things that make you go...

you would almost think that someone out there would want to prevent something like that from hitting the market. would bring the demand for oil so far down it wouldn't be funny...

8% efficiency?

Ah, no. Your average naturally aspirated Otto Cycle engine is in the ~25% range. I've also seen it simplified, 1/3 out the radiator, 1/3 out the tailpipe, 1/3 into the transmission.

There are some things that people have done stratified charge, adiabatic engines, all sorts of stuff, but even Smokey Yunick Himself couldn't get it to a point it was more than a shop project.

There will be some good stuff coming I'm sure, but it won't be the mythical "Fisher Carburetor".

If you're bored, go poke around the USPTO website, there are plenty of interesting ideas people have patented on this stuff.

What gives you that idea?

When stories start off with "my good buddy's grandfather" my bullshit detector buries the needle.

Take it FWIW, I wasn't there, neither was my buddy but I don't know either of them to be liars.

Pelmear told television station WNWO that the car hasn't traded power for miles per gallon. Pelmear said the car has 400 horsepower, goes well over 100 mph and can go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds.

Any independent verification here? No?
