Besides that, the 8 series Beemers are 2 door luxosports cars. I could never see BMW making a 4 door version, despite the rumors stating such.
My last tour in Germany, I shared a garage with one. I miss that car and it wasn't even mine.

Both the 6 and 8 series were produced simultaneously.
IIRC, the 6 were produced first and it was the 8 that, back then, was rumored to be the replacement for the 6. Personally, and I'm not knocking smooth's 6, the two series are nowhere near each other in terms of, well, anything.

I always thought the 850CSI was a classy car. More GT than sports, but still hawt.
