United Frequent Flyers- Miles Now Expire
Bastards.
United Airlines - New Mileage Plus expiration policy questions I can't find a link directly to where they mention it, it's in the newsletter .pdf, and various United international direct links are somehow now dead, but above is the FAQ. Basically after 18 months of inactivity, you lose them.

Re: United Frequent Flyers- Miles Now Expire
Bummer. American has had theirs set at 36 months for as long as I can remember. So as long as you earn at least one mile in 36 months, you are good. This isn't really a problem for me as I have all of my Hotel and Car stuff pointing back to the airline miles account. So even if I am not flying but staying at a hotel somewhere, I am earning miles.

Re: United Frequent Flyers- Miles Now Expire
Not that I condone this, but one major thing I've learned over the years from my father who was a pilot for United (and worked for them for 29 years) is that if you complain loudly enough--even if you're wrong--the airline will go out of their way to assuage your problem. Then again, not everyone has it in them to be a jackass just to get some free stuff (I don't)
