But you'd think they'd take aim at the S2k...Honda designed it a decade ago, and it'd still kick the shit out of this thing.
Dodge has to have engineers good enough to beat Honda at this game...

I dunno man, look at it. The rear resembles the Audi TT a bit, the front has some cues from the S2k... Can't mistake that ugly grill for anything but a Dodge though
It looks a lot like an S2k, IMO. I like it. I don't really care for the dashboard. It reminds me of the new mustang or an old cuda. Although, I like the gauges and the seats look really nice.
I like it. But I'm confused why the 2 seat roadster is the thing the mfgs are focusing on lately as opposed to the SUV or full size truck that makes big power and gets good mpg.
What ever happened to "give them what they want" rather than "convince them that this is what they need" ?

Didn't you see that episode of the Simpsons where Homer designs a car?
That episode was hilarious.
People don't know wtf they want.
They do actually.
Don't ask them though. Get the data.
There was an article in an issue of last week's WSJ where Huizenga's car dealership company (can't remember the name, the biggest in the country) is sharing their sales data with the Big 3, and forcing them to make cars optioned how customers want them, and to projected demand only...not build to the fulfillment of union contracts and then discount to the point people will finally buy.

What a novel idea!

Wouldn't you love to buy a car from a company that doesn't have to answer to unions?

"that monstrosity cost $800k? I'm bankrupt"
whatever happened to the days when you could actually pick and choose each option you wanted. I realize its too costly to do it that way but whenever I go to one of the manufacturers sites and build a car just for fun as if I would want it, the price ends skyrocketing because you have to get such and such a package just to get one damn thing you want and you end up getting all the crap you don't want just to get what you do want.

That drives manufacturing costs through the roof and increases errors.
Former head honcho from Ford came to speak to my international bidniz class last week. He said that at one point in the 90's or something there was a specific car that could be had w/ over 1 billion different option combinations.
I sort of find it hard to believe, but that's what he said. Can't remember his name, but he was CFO for a bit IIRC.

This is the good news about Toyota and Honda doing so well.
They will force the big 3 to change or die.

Congressmen looking for TV time would decry it, every union leader would be on TV waving a flag...

yea, but "so?" Daimler is German. I mean the American Big 3 are really the Big 2. No?

Only because of the tax laws here.
It should be called Chrysler Daimler, and would have been if it weren't for the horrible business (among other things) taxes in the US.
Hopefully they've taught you about why so many "US" companies are actually based beyond our borders, and what would happen if we repealed the current tax laws and went with the Fair Tax.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government.
As for the car, I actually like it. They could have toned down the grille some, but as it sits it very much looks like a Viper mated with an S2000. It is quite aggressive looking.
With the next-gen EVO/SRT4 engine in that thing it should be VERY potent, although the little base engine will be a laugher.

The name "Dodge Demon" reminds me of the original built back in the late 60's early 70's. Nice car for it's time when it had a 340 6-pack w/4-speed under the hood.
