Why no 848 in '08

Probably no 848 in 2008 because Mrs. Slick just announced Slick Jr.

Congratulations. Plenty of time for the Ducati later. Then you can teach Slick Jr to do the desmodromic tune ups. Or mow the lawn while you do..

I can't complain about the "no bike" thing because I was a willing participant in the incident that led to this.

True, but you already did your part. Why should you continue to suffer?

You make a good point. She got the new car she wanted and now the baby she has been begging for. I'll have to think about this one.

As a matter of fact, I took a 20 year break from bikes while the kids were growing up, and over the last seven years have spent more than double on college what I have on bikes, Mr. Smarty-Pants, so nanny-nanny boo-boo!

I know things will definitely have to change. I'll probably bring the kids up on dirt bikes but I'm not sure how much longer I'll have the CBR (or Ducati). For now Mrs. Slick is our source of income and she'll probably cut back on work by at least half if not more once the baby is born. We'll be depending more on student loans so there won't be much discretionary spending until after I graduate. However, my parents made all four of us pay for college ourselves so I might do the same (three of us have now graduated and the fourth is well on his way). That way I can spend all the "college funds" on bikes.

I just told her a few minutes ago that I wish it was the mailman's kid so that we could collect some child support.

Congrats Slick!

After the first two my wife wants more, but I vetoed that idea and will use the money I save to buy more motorcycling goodness for the whole family.

Well, yesterday it was determined that Slick Jr with for sure be Slick Jr, not Slick Jrette.

In anticipation of the news I rode to Omaha and test rode an 848 as pre-celebration.
