A furniture store so fun the kids were about to cry.
So the wife and I are sofa shopping. She remembers this industrial mall where whittier meets Santa Fe Springs at the corner of Sorensen and Washington Blvd... A corner that has this huge giraffe and sofas outside.
We stop. The giraffe is about 20ft tall! There is a bananna about 5 feet long with a monkey ontop of it. We slip between some armoirs past a life size Isis and Set and into the store. It smells of a incense. Music that I would imagine from a Turkish bazzarr. Half the furniture would seem to have come from a Indiana Jones movie. I make my way past a few sequin emblazoned mini cleopatra statues holding up a coffee table. Hook a left to where I see some leather couches. I sit down and am staring at a life size Capn Hook! I look at the wife. The wife looks at me. I hear a concerned wimper from Johnny (2yrs) and Toria (4.5yrs) is saying "Momma I want to go visit gramma" I look over and there is a life size Hawaiian girl holding up a beach umbrella. Wandering through more of the store I saw another Capn hook and a pirate girl amongst smoke machines There was so much I wanted to take home. I found the sales office near some tresure chests, after much searching and living people. Aparently Ahnold has taken a few pictures with the help. The kids were severly creeped out even though we were telling them this is like disneyland. I am going back soon and with a decent camera.

G-buddy
You could walk to this place in 5 minutes from all three... BDS (Blower Drive Service), LA-Sleeve and the old Speedomotive location. Of course its 10 minutes walk from my old highschool and a strip bar.
