the spider is awesome, just awesome. I think henderson won the first round and was delivering the goods pretty well into the second. But silva is just so damn awesome. One good shot is all it takes to stun and bam, you give up your back... I wish henderson could have held on for the extra 8 seconds to finish out the round, but it wasn't to be.

Kinda shocked to see herring take out the big fricken frenchman though.

^^^yeah, but part of his weight comes in the form of a beer belly for sure. Still, good showing for Herring.

I guess I'm not too surprised with Silva winning, I guess I just thought it would go past the second round.

Poor Evan Tanner...gotta feel for the guy.

Well Henderson's older now - and he looked out of gas pretty early. I wanted Henderson to win, just b/c I want to root for the older guys... but it was not to be.

As for Tanner, he looked pretty washed up - I'm a little concerned that he may be past his prime.

yeah but beer belly or not when he's on top of you on the ground, it's still an extra 10 pounds of mass to deal with trying to flip him over or trying to get out from under..

true, but when congo picked him up he did it like that extra 10lbs meant nothing...

If Congo can become an all-around fighter versus a kickboxer he could be devastating. But, he has a lot of work to do, IMO. Him beating Cro-Cop was mostly just Cro-Cop not doing shit and playing defensive.

I agree. Kongo *could* become the fighter the UFC *needs* in the heavyweight division. Now that the natural is out, the class is weak again IMO...

Very weak. Welterweight and light heavyweight are the classes to watch in the UFC. Middle weight is the Anderson Silva show and Heavy weight has nobody of any serious substance. Interestingly enough Chiek Kongo is ranked the number 8 Heavyweight in the world right now according to Fight! Magazine
