Money.............

Do you make more than you ever thought you would or are you satisfied with the amount that you earn? Are you leading a comfortable lifestyle? (not check to check and yet no Roll Royce)

Me, i think that i am comfortable.

Re: Money.............

it's never enough. No matter how much.

If I could pay off some debt, I'd be making enough. Problem is that work isn't fun enough, so I went back to school. Now I have 3x's the debt. It's a nasty cycle.

I choose not to work. Instead, I will sit back and rely on the gubmint to supply me with all I deserve. Like free health care, free food and housing all on the dime of those that actually go out and excell in this world.
Socialism is the way.

Re: Money.............

All a matter of perspective, of course.

I know some very unhappy wealthy people, and I've always been much happier when I was focusing on the important stuff (the spiritual), rather than how much money I had.

Many people would probably consider my earnings pretty good, but most wouldn't want my schedule and responsibilities.

Like I said, it's all a matter of perspective.

More than I ever thought. More would be nice in some respects but like others, if I paid off my debt. Then I would have plenty.

Re: Money.............

i feel like for my age i am doing well. i was making more with over time when i was still welding, but now i make more hourly, but i have no overtime. every two weeks i have taken a hit on my pay checks, but at least i know what they are going to be. within the next year i should be making close to what i was with the overtime and only working 40 hours a week. i was pay check to paycheckin it, but my wife finally landed her a job that will pay 30 plus hours a week and descent pay. now maybe i can get my check book back on track since she can now start helping out around the house. i need to get out of some debt.

Exactaly. I deal with people with a lot of money at work (the kind that have $500k "toys")...guess what, they dont have as much as they want. They have debt load equal in precentage to most people. The banks also own most of their homes and cars. Its all relative.

Re: Money.............

I am making a lot more now than I ever have. I have never lived check to check. If I can't afford it I won't buy it. More of my money goes into the bank than comes out. am I happy? somewhat, its nice to have some financial security in life but I could be a lot happier personally.

Re: Money.............

Overtime pays for toys in cash, vehicles are paid for and the mortgage is about 1/4th of what the house is worth. The wife hasn't been able to work for a couple of years and we're still doing fine, not saving much but still afloat. Credit cards are paid off monthly and the nest egg is still healthy. If more people lived within their means, their income wouldn't be important. Most people I know make more money and have a ton of debt. As mentioned above, it's all relative on how you manage what you have and how your priorities are in order.

Re: Money.............

I am certainly making more than I thought I would be at this stage in life. I live comfortably, and I also totally agree that the more you make, the more you spend. When I look back at my starting pay in the Navy that was about $12,000/yr, I wonder how I survived on that.
