The 250x isn't choked up and needs no uncorking... full power out of the box afaik.
I think there is actually a physical cork in the exhaust though...there should be? If not, are your eardrums intact? I put a vortip-like thing on my YZ, that thing was a barker...the 250's were louder than the 450's as I recall.

The Seamii are awesome.
There is a spark arrestor in the pipe but there is no power to be gained by removing it.
I had the morning off so I installed my new parts...
She's trail-ready now. Just need the weather to cooperate on Friday.
The Scorpion Racing stuff is nice. Well-made, perfect fit, and looks pretty durable. The skidplate was a bit of a whore to fit but it's built to take some serious abuse.

Well I spent the day in Kananaskis with some friends on a long, challenging mountain ride. I love the 250... for this type of riding it is every bit a better choice for me than a 450. I felt like I could go twice the speed in the woods and logs were no trouble at all. And don't let anyone tell you that 250f's have no torque... it's like a little tractor and can be lugged around like you wouldn't believe. Climbs hills like a sonofabitch too. Hell it was even able to "double" a guy out of the bush who dislocated his shoulder.
Very glad I got it.

I think everyone told you it would have ample enough power to do what you needed . Glad to hear you got to experience life on YOUR OWN RIDE in a good day of riding…there isn't quite anything else really like it .
Just remember, if you're not crashing - you're not riding fast enough
The slowest day I ever had on a dirtbike was when I traded my WR250f for a WR426f, but hey I needed new bars and plastics anyways right (I refused to believe I was slower). You will surprise a lot of people with that little 250…including yourself for the first few months.
Side questions…
You running factory oil on the filter, no-toil? uni?
Gotta battery tender? you will definitely want one if you don't have it…plug it in every time you're not riding even if it's just for a few days, seriously. Those little batteries die out quick especially in colder weather. Coincidentally they are also the most expensive batt's I've replaced.

Oh don't worry I fell off 4 or 5 times. We went on some pretty challenging routes. I'd like to rig up a video cam to record some of these rides. I went through shit that I never realized a dirtbike could go through. Very satisfying, the sense of accomplishment at getting to the top of a sonofabitch of a hill, or getting through a technical log-strewn trail at a brisk pace. It's like beating your own best lap time at the racetrack, but in a lot of ways more fun... more variety.
As of now it still has the factory fill of oil in it, which I'll be changing tomorrow. I've got a jug of rotella for the first few changes, then I'll probably switch to a Motul semi-synth... 5100 or 7100. I am a big believer in Motul ester oils, for reasons that I would be ashamed to share here. I hadn't planned on using anything but oem oil and air filters. And yes I'll have the battery tender hooked up full-time.

If I can make a recommendation…is that rotella synthetic or non? I would recommend chevron delo or rotella non-synth for your first few changes. You want to make sure the engine is all done being broken in before running synth in it….at least, thats my method . Some say that synth. doesen't let the rings and bore fully mate with each other because the synth's lubricity. Since this is assumedly your first micro sized high comp engine I felt compared to share…disregard at your leisure
Glad to hear you had fun, if I had a good riding area nearby I don't think I could resist getting back into it But the second Yamaha or Honda makes a plated X bike…hold me back

I have an ATC2k that I've used and was pleased with for the price (50$) but audio on it sucks.
There is an 'EDGE' camera I have seen in a few stores, that also sucks (lo-res and choppy fps).
I just decided to buy a tank mount for my regular Canon now.
Evl_twn has a thread on here about his VholdrHD as well, though not sure it's as impermeable as the GoPro.
