P90X RAGE!
Is anything else happening that evening at the track?

Maybe the negative effect - I'm not terribly interested. That place was an absolute zoo last year.
I'd rather head downtown to check out the Motorcycles on Meridian. YMMV.

This is our plan for 2009 as well...
I know there are some Flat Track guys out there though, just didn't want to leave anyone hangin'...

Do too.
If you ride in and out, the "zoo effect" pretty much disappears. I parked the Old Man Special about 400' from the track entrance, split a lane of traffic on the way in (with police approval) to knock about 60 cars off the entrance traffic and was out the gate within 15 minutes of leaving the track.
That said, I enjoyed the race but it has the "been there, done that" feeling for me. I'd never seen a flattrack race before. Exciting but NASCARish for me.

No worries - just voicing an opinion.
My experience was a little altered in that we had the Aprilia owner's party just a few buildings down from the grandstands on the same evening. I think Aprilia have decided to have the 2009 party at a different location.

So, you will be at Starbucks then?
I will no do the indy mile either, just alot going on that weekend. Plus like Seamus said, been there done that. But for othersthat have not been it is worth the $$ to go just for the experience.

I'd be just as happy to pass this time.

Me too. It was fun last year, but been there done that and there is a lot of other things going on in the area that would be great to check out.

It did smell like a zoo though - the body odor was horrific - and before the better half says it, yes I showered that day dammit

We aren't making it to the Mile this year, but it would be cool to see this...
King Kenny' to ride legendary bike at Fairgrounds: American motorcycle racing legend "King" Kenny Roberts will take several hot laps on his infamous Yamaha TZ-750 during the Lucas Oil Indy Mile AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National race Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
