This has been in the makings for years, not just a one time incident. I agree with SOB too. Damn I hate when that happens. Instead of the site (tail of the dragon) listing the government officials info, they ought to list the bike web sites and have responsible riders ask their fellow riders to curb their ways of terrorizing the dragon with their antics. It is a public road, not a public race track.

what i was saying in the other post, the sates could make more revinue by closing it and charging. however the liability would be high.
I am not post whoring, I am providing an abundance of useless opinion.

or they could go over the top, lower the squid count. When people mellow a bit go back to a normal policy that was never bad. Unfortunately this will likely last the rest of the year on weekends. Due to the people trying to prove they are the greatest it will ruin it for the rest of the people. Further it is likely to drive those morons out onto surrounding roads

    Re: Deal's Gap 2007

I recant post #83. If you are traveling through TN attempt to spend your money elsewhere. For instance if coming to Barber fuel in Kentucky and Alabama and eat in either.

This is the welcome squad in Hidden Valley. While the officer was quite nice and we talked a bit (yes I was parked in the road with helmet off and not in a hurry to get traffic going ). He attempted to claim that this was normal and it was just an event. He pointed out they go to Bristol and the drag races also. However I bet they don't set up a road block at Bristol and check license and plates of EVERYONE leaving the Nascar race. Further the 'event' may have been 200 riders at most. Also I bet they are not at the Cranberry Festival 'event' there in a couple of weeks.

This was not the troopers fault they are doing their job. However the powers that be say piss on bikes so spend your money in other places (whether on bike or in car). As a sidenote the officer claimed that they had give more tickets to cage drivers (darn hooligans in Cadillacs and SUVs).

Oh and for those wondering I did not get any citations so this not slant from bitterness, generally I am a huge supporter of police. If the dragnet had been to catch stolen parts or something other than harassment and intimidation I would have gladly supported it.
