    Flowers for the memorial service

We'd like to show our support for the Herald family by sending a flower arrangement to the memorial service from those that can't attend in person.

Hammer will be taking care of this, so if anyone is wanting to participate send Paypal to rbrumfield at gmail.com.

EDIT: Please get donations in by Monday night(July 2nd).

    Thanks.

I thought of this idea last night when I was working and I knew I wouldn't be the only one.

    Wow what a response.

You guys and gals are gonna make me cry with the way you all have graciously donated to Rich's Flowers. Just goes to show you what a great group you all are.

This is what I have in mind for the spray of flowers:
Red Roses and white Gardinias to represent his bike colors on a green folded leaf background in the center would be 3 yellow roses to represent his 3 daughters as well as 1 pink rose to represent Rich's wife.

This is only my thoughts, and I am in no way a flower expert so any suggestions are helpful. Also any thing that is customary for funerals, let me know.

That sounds really nice, Hammer. Thanks again for doing this! Happy to contribute, it's the least we can do.

I would say it is enough on flowers. I would suggest if you would like to do something, donate in Rich's name to Upper Peninsula Bible Camp which was his charity of choice.

Hey Hammer- Sounds great. Not sure how much money you got towards the flowers and all, but I have had some female friends that have lost their spouses and/or loved ones, and one of the things that they indicated they appreciated the most were the plants because the plants live on past the funeral, and they are something to remember the loved one and the people that cared. So perhaps if enough money, then a plant for each girl and Linda might also be nice.

Not a bad idea, or maybe a tree, something Hammer would know very well.

The bible camp might accept a memorial tree on their grounds, maybe the town where he lived or grew up. A lot a places do and usually let you put a memorial plaque with it.

Perfect, I'll just paypal you Hammer.

If there is extra money, just put it into a check for the camp.

Our immediate goal is to raise the $1.2 million needed to build Phase 1. This includes
the 250 person dining hall (& meeting space), kitchen, and 38-bed lodge wing. For
more details about the retreat center facility, visit the Retreat Center section of the
    campaign website.

    How can I give?
If you are interested in sending a check, please mail to:
    UPBC
    48095 Powell Rd.
    Plymouth, MI 48170
From their website. People so moved could make a donation by check in Richard's memory to the address above.

Re: Flowers for the memorial service

I just got off the phone with one of Rich's close friends. He said that the plants would be a great gesture if that is what you all wanted to do, I also brought up the offering of planting a tree in Rich's memory, but he thought the family would appreciate the donations to go to the Upper Peninsula Bible Camp if possible. He is going to talk with the camp to see the possibility of a pay pal acct for them if not a check via snail mail would work as well. He said that the camp has been good to the family in their time of sorrow with housing while the family is away from home. I will post back when he calls me back with the info.
