Richard passed away just after noon today. Thank you for all the prayers, good wishes, and generous donations that came from his friends here. Please continue to pray for Linda and his three daughters.

See you at Grattan
Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
Terrible news. I know Rich is in a good place. I do feel for his family and friends.
Dave, thanks for being such a great friend to him and his family and being there for them in this difficult and unreal time.

Believe
Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
I can barely type out this message even though I have been thinking about the possibility since yesterday.
For those that knew Rich he will leave a huge void in their lives. For his family, I can't even imagine the impact his loss will have.
Rich was a regular at just about every trackday event I have ever attended at Grattan and was always the first to lend a hand, give some useful advice or make a wise-assed comment during rider's meetings. He had a great sense of humor and I only wish that I had been able to know him better than just as a fellow "motorcycle addict".
Dave, you have been the best of friends especially during this entire ordeal, but more importantly you are a friend to Rich and his family and have been able to communicate our feelings and support during the past several days.
If there is anything we can do just say the word and it's done.
I hope God doesn't mind all the noise up there . . .
Godspeed Rich.

Do too.
Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
At approximately 1340 today, the skies above me opened up with the most vicious blackness I've seen outside of an actual tornado and with an accompanying wind that bent the trees over sideways. I took it as a sign and left work...
I'm going to miss you severely, RAH. I barely knew you and somehow you managed to change my life. You are an awesome person and I'm glad to have met you.
You were right, it would have been the worst decision of my life and I'm glad we talked.

Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
RIP Rich. I was glad to have met you, if only briefly at the Grattan events. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with your family and friends.
Dave, thanks for being such a good friend to Rich and being there for them. You're in my prayers, too, my friend.

It's Who You Know That Counts
Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
I had some updates from the road, and managed to get my phone online a bit this morning. I had to pull over.
I am still in shock. Lots of thoughts, none translate to the keys though.
I talked to him about 15 minutes before, I still can't believe that was it.
RIP buddy.

Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
Rich: You reached out and showed friendship to me when I first joined the .org. I really appreciated your thoughtfulness.
I met you briefly in person, and you made a big positive impression on me. I was looking forward to talking with you later in the day, but we didn't get the chance.
I now find comfort in my deeply-held belief that we'll meet again. In the meantime you have my word that I'll do what I can to assist your family and good friends in any way I can.
'Till then, Brother.

I'm wiry
Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
It sounds like there will be quite a void left by Rich's passing, but that's a great testimony to the life he lived and the man he was.
Rest in Peace, Rich.

Tentative plans are for a memorial service at Lakepointe Bible Chapel in Plymouth, MI Thursday 7/5.
Still needs to be confirmed, but the goal is to have visitation between 1-3, and the service from 3-4.

My sentiments exactly. I wish I would have had the privilege to meet you, but even though I didn't I still feel like there is a part of my (our) family missing...
