Still needs to be confirmed, but the goal is to have visitation between 1-3, and the service from 3-4.
That makes it pretty easy for the Michiganders, but why MI when he's from Indiana? (not complaining at all.)
Rich was born and raised on his family's farm in South Lyon, and met Linda through church activities when they were in college. They were married at Lakepointe Bible Chapel in Plymouth.
They moved to Indiana in 1993, so Richard and I 'took advantage' of our wives and kids desire to see each other a lot by getting motorcycles.
Over the years Rich and I spent countless hours with each other's families. We rode bicycles for thousands of miles, he was the sound man for a band I played in for years, and we rode tens of thousands of miles and made great friends on our motorcycles.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of a great man. I wish I had the chance to have known him better.
Prayers and support to the family.

Is this going to be mostly for family, or will they not mind having a bunch of gearheads there? I would like to be there, but I don't want to step on family toes.
I met Rich for the first time a year ago at a Putnam track day. Visited with him, Dave, and Seamus again about a week ago at Putnam. He was always so friendly. I still cannot fathom that he is gone. When Brian called Monday night and said there had been an accident at the track, I never imagined that it would be Rich, and it never even crossed my mind that he might pass from his injuries. Though they appeared bad, I thought at best it would be a slow recovery, but a recovery non-the-less. Still in shock.
If there is one thing to be taken from all this, it is that any of us can go at anytime, so live life to the fullest, and love to the fullest. Never take your family or friends for granted, and when they leave for work or track day, etc., always let them know you love them and are thinking of them. I used to worry about Brian going to track days. Fretting until he returned home. As time has gone by, motorcycles and track days have become a part of my life so much so, that I stopped considering that anything could happen to him or his friends. At worst he might slide off the track, get some bruises or a minor break and be back at it in no time. On those times when I could not make it to a track day, it would be a peck on the lips and have fun, see you when you get home. MAN!! I can only imagine what Linda must be going through. I will not stop Brian from riding, as I know he lives for it, but I will certainly not take him or the track for granted anymore.
RIP, Rich...........I've never met you or anyone else on this board, but seeing the outpouring of support and feelings, I know you will be missed by all-myself included. My deepest condolences and prayers to your family. One of God's children has come home................
Having never met Rah or any of you in person should make me unmoved by anything that happens because i mean we're just a bunch of people on the internet right? Wrong. We're part of a brotherhood and we've suffered a huge loss by losing Rich. He always had advice n the boards for anybody with questions and was a wealth of knowledge. He will be greatly missed.

I haven't been cruising this forum very much of late, and I don't know him, but I am compelled to send my best wishes to his family and friends, and may he rest in peace.
And again, condolences to your family and friends. I never had the pleasure of meeting you but your memory lives strong through the folks you've touched via the internet, at street events like COTU and of course at the track. Godspeed.
I met Rich at the Grattan event and he is one of those who made the event the happening that made us want to come back every year. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but when I meet someone from the net there is a lasting impression that is burned into my mind. Whenever I saw RAH-VFR's posts I saw his smiling face.
I was a better person for having known him... He will be missed.
My prayers now go out to his family and to ourselves... Rich's extended family.

Re: Rich Herald RAHVFR Rest in Peace.
While I didn't know him its always hard to lose a fellow rider.
I hope all his friends and family find peace by remembering the good times that you all shared.
R.I.P. old friend, I'll meet you where the track doesn't end

Dave: Any update on this? Also, a few people have asked if there is a charity or other organization where they can contribute in Rich's name. I know this is a rough time for asking questions, but if Linda and family have a wish, please let us know.
Now in stereo Visionaries say "Yes, we can."
Engineers say "Not so fast."
and Seamus is awesome
My prayers to his family and friends. I only knew him through here, but it saddens me greatly to hear of the loss of a father and fellow addict, he will be greatly missed I am sure.
There is no 12 step program or counseling available for my addiction...thank God!
