Prayers Requested (Rider Down) (updated 27JUN 6:54pm)

RAH-VFR took a spill this morning and was evac'd.

Current situation is femur broken in two places and a chest tube inserted to relieve a collapsed lung. They're currently attempting to prep him for surgery to set his leg.

Please take some time to say a prayer for a quick and uneventful surgery and recovery.

Will update as info comes in.

Thanks all.

Heal up well! I hope you have a quick recovery. Glad you are still with us.

Edit: Just read post #9. Man, that is some serious stuff. I hope the fracture is stable. Rah, good luck in your recovery and I will pray that in a few months you will be back up to speed.

Re: Prayers Requested (Rider Down)

Update:

Broken collarbone
Broken ribs
Collapsed lung
Femur broken in two places
Compression fracture in a vertebrae (didn't get location)

He's in a bunch of pain and having a little difficulty breathing so they knocked him out and put him on a respirator. He will most likely remain that way for a couple of days for his body to rest and recuperate a bit before they go to work on repairing his leg.

Sorry if this is short, it's hard enough just typing it.

Seamus, thank you for taking the time to provide us with this difficult information. You're right right there in our thoughts from us back home, as well as the rest of our bro's and sis's up there. Let us know if there's anything at all we can do from here.

Yeah, thanks Seamus for the report. We don't like to hear about one of ours going down, but at the same time we'd like to know.

RAHVFR, you hang in there and get better soon. If there is anything I can do to help, just holler.

He's in rough shape but he'll pull through soon enough. He's in good hands.

I'm sure having all the good friends nearby wishing him well is helping. Thanks for the updates.

Re: Prayers Requested (Rider Down) (updated 3:48pm)

From the hospital - He's stabilizing, but they won't wake him for several days. His injuries are very serious, but there is no indication after 2 CT scans of any brain or spinal cord damage, despite the compression fracture of T14 (12?)

He landed hard on that Arai helmet, and it did a fine job of saving his life. ( The Knox back protector and the BB leathers helped greatly, too) With all the complications he's got now, any neuro damage could have been devastating.

Please continue to pray/send good thoughts. If this trauma would have occurred out on the road instead of 1000 feet from an ambulance, or if the hospital didn't have a heart/lung ICU of the caliber of this one, we would have been in the deepest shit.

One of the docs races Ducatis in AHRMA. That's comforting, somehow.
