MCADX Days at Miller 2008 / AMA / WSBK Combo???

I heard from our friends at Apex Trackdays regarding next year's schedule, and they had what I thought was a pretty cool idea. The day after the AMA and World Superbike races at Miller next year (Monday, June 2), they have already reserved the full track. They could also reserve one of the two tracks for a second day (Tuesday, June 3), if our group was interested.

The race weekend for AMA and WSBK will be from Thursday, May 29 through Sunday, June 1. Info on the event and tickets can be found here: Miller Motorsports Park - SBK Superbike World Championship.

So, I need to know ASAP - as an alternative to our Labor Day event, who would be interested in coming to Utah for World Superbike and AMA Race weekend, along with then riding the full track on Monday, and the East or West on Tuesday? I think it sounds AWESOME. Also, the MotoGP event in Indy is in mid-September, and might pose an issue for some who might have been wondering if they could do both a Miller Labor Day event and then MotoGP in Indy just two weeks later.

The other issue to consider is that our Grattan event is typically at the end of June, not quite a month after this potential epic event at Miller. Please let me know your thoughts ASAP so I can help the Apex folks plan their schedule.

I don't know why anyone would want to be at that lame place in the middle of nowhere that weekend.

I voted but there is zero chance of attendance back to back for me This year was WAY over budget and next will have to be a bit less. Also that is close to Grattan and would conflict if Abtech is still plotting it. Lastly having it on Labor Day did cut down on vacation used for long distance migration.

I'll work my schedule around it. I voted for the same weekend as the AMA(Whocaresseries)/WSBK.

However, I was already planning on attending if it was going to be on Labor Day again. So either way I'm there

You are looking at it the wrong way, let’s take June off and do a Track day Continental Tour

Don't count my vote too heavily because my chances are slim but the June date I'm not in school and could potentially be back home to Idaho by then so could maybe come down. The other dates are out for sure though for me. I have to take Step 1 of my boards sometime in June though so it will come down to all of the planets aligning just right.

Bump - Just want to make sure I have the maximum number of responses I can get before I let them know. After we posted the reviews and photos of our Labor Day event last month, lots of people were saying "Man, I really need to get to that event next year!" Now's the time to make your voice heard, and let us know when you'd rather have this incredible party.

We want to go but can't commit this early of course.

I voted count me in anyway.

That's cool, and I appreciate it, and sure hope you can make it!

It's tough, because I don't want to lead them to believe a bunch of us will be there and have them make the commitment to the track for all that $$$, and then have just a handful of us show up. The main reason they would add an extra day would be for us. If there aren't enough people interested in either, I shouldn't lead them to believe there will be.

Re: MCADX Days at Miller 2008 / AMA / WSBK Combo???

I voted somewhat conservatively, opting for the 'traditional' Labor day weekend.

Having the chance to do not one but two trips to Miller next year is definitely very tempting. Since early June is within school break, I'm pretty sure that my daughter would love to ride at Miller too.

Can you add two more to the 90% sure we can make it brigade?

Voted Labor Day here. Don't think my busted up leg will be ready for tracktime by the end of May.

Alright, I'm about 85% on the combo weekend with WSBK. Due to the fact that I (like most of us) am going to the Indy GP, I won't be able to be gone for two weekends in a month.

OK... getting serious now. They have "trackside" tickets for $60 or grandstand tix for $85. I don't think I could stay confined to a grandstand... I'd want to wander around. Where are you allowed to be with the trackside tickets?

And how does one get a paddock pass? Do you have to know someone?

Oh and I registered for the APEX day. Interesting to see that they are running a 3-group day now.

Here's more detailed info about what and where:
http://www.millermotorsportspark.com...TicketsWeb.pdf

I'm not 100% in-the-know about it, since I haven't been to the event before, but I bought seats in the ERDA grandstands, which should give an excellent view of most of the track (it's near the Clubhouse). I also bought paddock passes for the four days.

Glad to hear you signed up for the Apex day as well. They changed this year to some days being three-session (but less expensive), and some two session (which I generally prefer for more track time).

Are you going to stick around for R2SL also?

Re: MCADX Days at Miller 2008 / AMA / WSBK Combo???

Got any hotel deals worked out?

1 More thing I'm not too sure about... Are Thurs. and Friday the AMA races and Saturday and Sunday the WSB show? Just that it might make more sense for us to drive down friday instead of Wednesday.

R2SL looks like a lot of fun... definitely don't want to miss out on that. Wednesday will be valuable R&R (take Jessica shopping ) time.

No particular deals yet, but probably the sooner we book something the better the rate will be. Hilton or Hampton by the airport are my two favorites (hopefully no dog show this time ). R2SL is really an awesome event - you'll love it.

Here's the schedule I've heard:
The tentative schedule has practice sessions for the AMA Superbike Championship on Thursday, May 29, with practice and qualifying sessions for both the WSB and AMA Superbike Championship on Friday, May 30. The WSB Superpole session plus the first of two AMA Superbike races and the AMA Superstock and Formula Xtreme races are scheduled for Saturday, May 31, and both WSB races plus the second AMA Superbike race and the AMA Supersport races will take place on Sunday, June 1.

Just got off the phone with Ed @ MMP... bought 4 paddock grandstand passes for Saturday and Sunday and we will be joining you in the ERDA stands.
