    Back to work

Ok, so I'm back to work and all I can keep thinking about is the line from Fight Club: "After fighting, everything else in your life got the volume turned down".

After 3 days at the track with what is quite likely one of the greatest groups of people in the world, the rest of my life has the volume turned down. Way down.

Yup...yesterday was rough. I was so completely unmotivated and didn't get back into the grove until it was almost time to go home. Think I can pull that off again today?!?!

That about sums it up for me, too. I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things.

I gotta get coffee and review data. Sigh.

Grattan is clinging to me like that smoky smell that lingers on your sweatshirt after a bonfire party. I catch a "whiff" every now and then and get lost in re-living the whole three days... <sigh>

I went back to work for 2 days then spent a few more days at another track with Alessandro, my family and a few other friends.

It was almost like a mini version of Grattan in the paddock. I just didnt feel as "safe" out on the track with all the wanna be racers.

I took off a couple extra days to acclimate to life back home (and getting used to driving a car again before driving my wife into the city at 5am this morning). Now I gotta go back to the office tomorrow and my wife is out of town for the next 3 days, I felt like a lost puppy. So I went out and asked the dudes building our deck what I could do to help them, oh cut and predrill balusters? mindless task? ok that I can be motivated to do.

I agree with the rest though, I'm not motivated to anything and am in this weird sorta funk
I finally went through and geotagged all my photos from the trip last night, but have 16gb of video I'm not even willing to look at just yet. I'd say I'm not even motivated to post...but you could reply and dispute that.

Today's my first day back at work. Not sure I'll be able to make it all the way through Friday. Going to have to call in sick the rest of the week.

I didn't know you were thinking.. What happened? Oddly enough I almost quit myself yesterday. (with no resignation) They made sure they saved me some shit work for my return. It's getting harder and harder to swallow these days and a week off helped me realize that.

Oh I'm well aware. That’s what has kept me there this long. However if you are good at what you do there will always be work somewhere. At least I'd like to think so. The question is how much can you take before you bail (or snap). I think many employers are currently feeding on the fact that the market is flooded with available bodies and severely abusing it.

Just did two at T-bolt. I will try any of the Summit courses or hit VIR again before going back to Lightning.

I might try another T-bolt date with Nesba late summer or early fall.

What track days are you considering?

Sent ya a PM, too, but I'm also riding at NJMP with Absolute Cycle (ABSOLUTE CYCLE PERFORMANCE LLC Rahway, NJ 1 (877) 382-9800). They put on a good day. I'll be at T-bolt with them July 26th & 27th (taking the free I school on the 26th), and most likely August 15th-17th. CBR929RE was considering the August dates.

Planning on Summit Main with NESBA Sept 12th & 13th. Not sure I want to ride Jefferson Circuit. Maybe BeaveRun again with them the last weekend in August.

NESBA is at Lightning in early August, not sure I'll make that one.

Check their schedules and let me know what you think!

I read the pm b4 the post. I'm very interested in Summit Main as I've yet to try anything over there. Let me see what I can work out.

BeaveRun doesnt excite me enough to want to chug up those mountains with a trailer. I'd be willing to try it again, but only if its like on the way back from Grattan or Mid-Ohio.

I'll sort through all of the schedules later this week and get back to ya.
