I am back to the office. I vowed not to touch my company email at all (mobile device, laptop, etc.) while away from the office and I managed to keep my word . The downside is the 26 minutes of complete uselessness afforded to me by Outlook as I waited for my PC to update it's inbox this am. I only have about 496 actual emails though (non subscriptions or distributions sent to me) so that isn't too bad.

    The blah factor is high.

I'll be at T-bolt with them July 26th & 27th (taking the free I school on the 26th), and most likely August 15th-17th. CBR929RE was considering the August dates.

Planning on Summit Main with NESBA Sept 12th & 13th. Not sure I want to ride Jefferson Circuit. Maybe BeaveRun again with them the last weekend in August.

NESBA is at Lightning in early August, not sure I'll make that one.

Check their schedules and let me know what you think!
I keep forgetting to ask my boss if anyone else has vacation that week so I can put in for the days off. gotta do that this weekend. looks like I just need to take off Friday and Monday to make those days work.

Maybe we should start a forum to discuss track days?

Surely Grattan '10 is really the only trackday worth discussing

Bingo!! And SSG, you can talk about trailers because that's what allows your bike to get to Grattan. There, see how easy that was!

    Work to live....live to work?

A good friend and fellow track rider went in to his boss's office and told him he needed a few days off for trackdays we were doing together. Boss said "sorry, we need you"...friend says "You don't understand - I only do this (work) so I can do trackdays. If I can't take time off for trackdays, there's really no reason for me to be here". He took the days off, and still had the job to come back to.

Of course, this was before the big economic downturn....

when I accepted my position with John Deere after I left GM I told them flat out: "There are 2 weeks this summer that I will not be at work". The one week was MCADX 08 and the other was MotoGP at Indy. I went back in this week and told my boss "I'll be taking the same week off again next year". His reply: "I thought you were selling your bike". I told him "it's not about the bike, it's about the people".

When I signed up for this teaching position I said I want mid June off until the end of August. They granted my demand!

Today was my first real day back at work. This past Tuesday thru Thursday I was at a joyous seminar, but that was still travel time. I hate coming back from vacation and it seems like you never left...just back to the daily grind again. I will be putting in my time off for next June very soon!

True....true. Don't forget about the 2 weeks I get off for Christmas and the New Year as well as the week off in April for Spring Break. Don't worry Joe, I will make sure that I have enough fun for the both of us!

BUT.....your the one that I have to count on when I need shirts, chairs, etc... made......thats something to brag about!!! I honestly wish I could do that type of creative custom making!!

Depending on the crazy ideas you have brewing in your head, you'd be surprised at what you can make yourself. I've been to some seminars/expos and seen first hand how some of these "custom/personlized" things are made. Its usually alot easier than you might think. The only real question is: How far do you want to take it? or basically how much are you willing to invest in equipment ?

I've been trying to get my mom to sell her little hand made thingamajiggies at the flea market for years. If my wife ever decides to listen to me and quit her job to stay home, I could keep her busy with plenty of stuff (not including t-shirts).
