I've been told that I'm getting dragged to the hospital tomorrow.
Quiet you. If I had gotten my way, we would have gone tonight.... Now that I think of it, the "new" route home and the timing of it all was probably all part of the master plan to put the trip off for one more day.

Rachel and I made it home just before midnight on Friday.
Including our detour to the trackday in Monticello, it was 20 hours and 2 minutes of drive time, according to the trip computer.
The guys from Boston Moto will be there so tell Scottie, Dennis and the rest of them to keep it rubber side down. I'll make sure Scottie pops in and gives a full review of the track. Hopefully they give the safety a thumbs up cause I wanna ride it seeing as its only a few hours away. If I had known about this day before hand I woulda signed up and done it ont eh way home.
Nice guys, those Boston Moto fellas. They even knew your name (and one of them said he'd seen you on Thursday). They asked if I'd be interested in shooting some of their trackdays. At NJMP, definitely. At VIR, possibly. At NHIS? Probably a little too far... (NH, maybe you're interested...?)
Monticello is sweet. Awesome facility; very high-dollar. The current clubhouse is a temporary one, but they still have marble in the bathrooms. Even the porta-johns are nice. For those unfamiliar with it, the place is basically a motorsports country club for millionaires. A membership costs $125. THOUSAND. I don't know if that's a yearly thing, or if it gets you five or ten years or what, but it's a lot of money. There were three Ferraris, an Elise, and an Audi R8 parked near the clubhouse, and I only wish I'd found some time to go watch some of the cars lapping the other circuit there.
The pavement is beautiful and smooth, and the course looks really fast and fun, if a little short. Lots of guys had lap timers, but apparently no one brought a beacon (!?!) to the event, so no one really knows what kind of lap times they were running. The "straights" are short, especially after having just seen Grattan for three days, but there are a variety of corners, and a nice bit of elevation change.
I was told the guys at "Fly Kitty Motorsports" will be posting some on-bike video. Here's their site: Welcome to Flykitty Motorsports!
One thing I do know: the track is AWESOME when it comes to doing photography; it's possible to get pretty close to the track in some of the corners. Here's a sample shot from Friday, in turn two.

they saw me? the only place they would have seen me was on the highway through CT and MA on the way home but that was after 9pm thursday night. I'll have to go check out the local forum and see if they've posted some reviews yet.

We got home fine and then I hopped a flight to Mexico. Ha!
Prick.
I got home from Grattan and headed to Japan the next day once, but it wasn't on holiday!

A little late, but I got home safe and sound last night. I don't think I'm going to schedule 5 trackdays in one week again! Dayum I'm sore, even though we didn't get "full" days.

You rode at Jefferson AND Main! Whew.
I've never done the little JC course. Should I?

It's a small track, obviously. As I recall it's kinda like two paper-clip sections in an L-shape, with a few extra curves thrown in. Turning laps on a racetrack is almost always fun, and if there are no better options on a given day, it would probably be worthwhile, if only to experience a new layout.
Send me their info. I'm waiting for doctors to do their thing right now.
So, how's the knee?

Going in for an MRI today. Doctors are guessing a torn LCL and meniscus.

It was the kitchen ceiling, actually. A little less than half came down and is still down as I'm not too good on ladders at the moment. A pipe to the upstairs bathroom sink burst which caused the mess. Going to call a plumber to get the pipe fixed and then work on the ceiling later (it's a drop ceiling so nothing major to fix.)

No, 2 days at JC, which is more of a workout than main, as there is no massive straight to rest on. As mentioned it is only 1.1 miles or so with 8 or 9 turns, depending on how you count them. It's a fun course with a good variety of turns, not too bumpy. Lap times for I group are ~ :55 to a little over a minute, so you get to practice those 8-9 turns a lot each session. If you ask me what my favorite track is, it's the one I'm riding that day, so YMMV.
