We certainly can arrange for a swim if you keep up the shenanigans.

To those on the road right now, please be safe and stop when tired, don't overdo. We will begin our journey to Grattan Saturday morning.

Yes... I have 16 gallons of locally brewed root beer (plus cups) already in the trailer. Bike goes in at 0500, then we are on the move to MI. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Redsazook got to our place at about 5 pm. Got everything loaded, took a couple of hours to sort things out. And a wicked rain storm was going on whilst we were loading. Left the trailer lights on too long and killed the truck battery. It's on a charger overnight, so we should be good to go tomorrow morning...after consuming some blueberry pancakes!!!

I'm helping a friend move on Saturday. (I know, I know.)

Then it's home to pack, load the trailer, and hopefully get to bed before midnight. Rachel and I are hoping to get on the road by 4am Sunday, and should be at the track before 9pm, barring any issues along the way.

Last year we left at 8pm the night before (just about 12 hours before the track walk) and didn't make it to Grattan until the lunch break on the first day. Of course, I couldn't make it without a bit of a nap. This year will be better; we're leaving in plenty of time.

Wyoming is huge, ugly, and incredibly boring. Thank goodness I'll soon see the excitement that is Nebraska.

Oh right...5pm...so you guys drive straight through or stay somewhere? Although I've never driven it, I know MA or JH41 is >3 hours from Grattan...

    we= wife and I.
where= we usually get out on the bike every Sunday for breakfast and go for a bit of a tour, planning usually ruins it. I just figured I'd mention it

What route are you guys taking out there out of curiousity, you're in NYC right JH?

being only 4 hours away you are "local" for this event. that's a short drive. Bwhip has another 23 hours over you. I remember the western Canadians saying it was 32 or 40 hours (depending on who you were talking to) of driving. I think the Californians are somewhere in that range also.

last year we left sunday morning and drove right through. this year we might stop for the night. basically the route is west on 84 out of CT and west on 80 till we get to MI then up and over I think I69 and I96. you can just punch in Danbury CT to Belding MI in googlemaps to see the route.

We did WY in the opposite direction you're doing it on our way to SLC. Man, that place is boring...

Anyways, Yamasuzi had some issues and won't be able to make it this year, unfortunately, so it's going to be me by my lone self for the third year.
    Oh, well.
I'm leaving as soon as I get some chores done and everything loaded tomorrow morning. It'll be 19 hours drive time for me. Much shorter than the trip to SLC for the WSBK.
See you all on Sunday. Drive safe.

Whipper, i feel your pain. I have driven through Wyoming a few times, i heard of all the wild west shit is still in Wyoming. I only seen a buzzard and 2 Pygmy goats when I was there. Montana is friggin huge too.

I have most of the bike shit done and my bike is in the trailer now. I have a few chores to do before heading out Sunday morning for my 6 hour drive.

We get on this big road, (like the ones I avoid when on the moto) and drive towards the left coast. Once past the 46th Wal-mart, we hang a right. Then I roll the window down so 929RE can stick his head out. The kid can smell whale sperm over 200 miles away.

For some reason we ended up driving behind a white Toyota Tundra last year but eventually we made it.

I ended up working on a trailer yesterday that I'm borrowing from 1 in the afternoon to midnight.. nonstop To make matters worse, one tire is fried so I have to try and find a used tire to put on there. Then I can start loading the trailer. I guess U-haul would have been the better option.
